"Yun Shu, why do you look so pale? If you’re tired, you can go back and rest first. You don’t need to keep watch here."
Upon hearing Mrs. Shi’s words, Ling Yunshu lowered her face slightly, not wanting Mrs. Shi to see her complexion. She shook her head gently, her voice somewhat hoarse, "Madam, I’m not tired. Please let me stay here with you; only then can I feel at ease."
Mrs. Shi looked at Ling Yunshu, a flicker of relief flashing in her eyes. Since she had been hospitalized, Ling Yunshu had been taking care of her almost tirelessly, keeping her company. Seeing Mrs. Shi’s suddenly altered breathing, Ling Yunshu was startled and quickly reached out, gently patting her chest, helping her catch her breath.

Mrs. Shi smiled and nodded, gently grasping Ling Yunshu’s hands. Her brows relaxed, and a slow smile formed on her lips, "It’s all because of this illness of mine, which has delayed yours and Che’er’s wedding. I truly owe you an apology."
After hearing that Shi Che was going to seek Ling Chuxia, Ling Yunshu had been thinking about how she should approach Mrs. Shi and seek her help so that she would support her. Now... the opportunity had presented itself.
A flicker passed deep within Ling Yunshu’s eyes, swiftly giving way to a profound look, and suddenly, she knelt by Mrs. Shi’s sickbed.

Ling Yunshu took a deep breath and spoke slowly, "I previously said that Shi Che had agreed to our engagement, but it was... it was a lie."
"What?" Mrs. Shi’s eyes widened dramatically, her pupils constricting rapidly, "What do you mean it was a lie?"
Hadn’t the engagement already been settled?
"Madam, I’m sorry, at that time, your condition was very bad, and you... you refused to let the doctor treat you, so I, I, out of urgency, lied to you."
