His actions were swift and vicious, so sudden that Ling Chuxia couldn’t react in time before being pulled into the stairwell, her back against the wall. Shi Che stood with his hands on either side of her, his tall frame trapping her in front of him.
Ling Chuxia’s eyes showed a moment of panic, but she quickly forced herself to regain composure. Shi Che was too close; a simple glance up would meet his eyes, and ultimately, she didn’t dare to meet his gaze. She turned her head to the side, her voice trembling as she spoke, "Shi Che, what... what are you doing?"
"Shi Che?" Shi Che’s voice was cold, laden with boundless mockery, "Why is it not ’elder sister’s husband’ now?"
The words ’elder sister’s husband’ were almost ground out between his teeth, each word as if it had been forced through a clenched jaw.
