Xiu Mei's next four days went by a bit too messy and chaotic. Over those four days, she had to terminate at least ten employees in total after assessing their behavior and performance. She also had to resolve the issue of some customer suddenly raging inside the store complaining that they were being ignored by the employees.
"I don't wanna get up anymore, ugh." Xiu Mei complained as she threw herself on the bed, burying her face on the pillow. She even ignored that she was still wearing her business clothes, she was too tired to worry about that.
Since the room was too quiet, Xiu Mei found herself slowly being hypnotized to sleep. Half an hour later, her phone rang to life disrupting her dreams. Half-awake, half-asleep, Xiu Mei fumbled under the sheets looking for her phone. A few rings later, her hand finally found the solid ringing object.
With her eyes still closed, she accepted the call.
"Hello?" Her voice came out a bit deeper and huskier due to her being recently woken up.
Xiu Mei heard a chuckle on the other line that she quickly ignored. Her mind wasn't really catching up to what was currently happening. Her brain right now could even be compared to some computer with slow processes that she even wondered if she would be able to understand the other person's language.
"Princess, you're already asleep?" That soothing, hypnotizing and warm voice alerted her senses. Her eyes jumped open and in an instant, her brain was suddenly in full function. Her eyes quickly shifted to the phone on her hand after pulling it away from her ears to look at the caller ID.
Xiu Mei's eyes widened. Oh my gawd, why is my first love calling?!
Her heart quickly palpitated as she had to control herself from suddenly squealing on the phone.
"Brother Lee!!" She tried to make her voice as normal as possible, yet, it was still noticeable that her voice rose a few notes higher.
Xiu Mei couldn't even hide the grin that was showing on her face as she kept thinking of Brother Lee's face in her mind. Ah, so dreamy.
"Did I woke you up?"
"NO! No!" Was her immediate reaction as she quickly shook her head. In contrast with her low energy just half an hour ago, Xiu Mei was comparable to someone who had just ingested an energizing pill and became too hyper after.
In all honesty, it was half true. For Xiu Mei, Brother Lee could actually be considered her energizing pill.
Brother Lee is one of her brother's bestfriends that Xiu Mei would often meet back when she was still little. Everytime Brother Lee would come over in their house, he would always play with her, feed her and accompany her while telling some interest stories.
Xiu Mei liked spending a lot of time with Brother Lee until second year middle school. It was when Brother Lee entered the Military Academy for college. And throughout the years, he has been continually getting recognition as the one of the youngest Major General in the country.
Xiu Mei looked up to Brother Lee not only as her brother but also as her Prince Charming. When she was still a child, she always thought Brother Lee was just a second from her brothers. Brother Lee was drop dead gorgeous, patient, kind, and he excels in almost everything the he does. Unfortunately, he utterly fails in cooking.
Anyway, of all people that Xiu Mei had met, she considered Brother Lee as the most handsome of them all. After all, he was really good looking enough to be offered by multiple celebrity managers to sign a contract to become an actor or model. What attracts her even more to Brother Lee was that he is undoubtedly a living version of Prince Charming.
He was kindhearted, and he almost had no flaw(except cooking!). How could the young Xiu Mei not fall in love with such a person, right?
As Xiu Mei grew up though, her feelings for Brother Lee changed. Yes, he is her first love. But right now, that love that he had for Brother Lee was quite different now that she grew up. What she had before was just an innocent love a child had for someone older than her.
"Then do you wanna go hang out?" Brother Lee offered.
Xiu Mei jumped in surprise. It was very rare for him to have some free time to hang out with her after becoming promoted to a Major General.
"You're not busy? And do you even know where I am?"
"Of course, I asked your mom where you were."
Mom and her blabbermouth. Really, she would always tell her whereabouts not only to her brothers but also to Brother Lee. Everytime she would go somewhere, one of her brothers would pop here in there to kidnap her in the middle of work and she would always be frustrated with that.
Though, she was actually thankful for her mom for it because ever since she had started working, it was now quite difficult to meet up with her brothers due to their line of work. One is in the military and one is in the government. Both are too busy like her.
"Okay!" Xiu Mei cheerfully agreed. After finalizing where they are going to meet, Brother Lee had offered to pick her up from the hotel instead so they could go to the restaurant together.
Right after hanging up the call, she quickly rose from the bed and rushed to her luggage to find something decent to wear. It was Brother Lee ah. The most handsome Brother Lee! Who doesn't like handsome people with good attitude?
Xiu Mei put on a light makeup after changing out of her clothes. She checked the time with her phone and left the room to go down to the lobby.
"Little Princess, it's been awhile." A man, clad in white button up shirt lazily leaned by the wall just across the elevator she was riding on. The man's hair was cut cleanly as per military protocol and the muscles that had developed overtime could be seen due to how tight the long sleeves was hugging his arm.
"Brother Lee!" She exclaimed. The same guy flashed his white teeth with a smile at her.
Really handsome, ah!
