After sharing a kiss with Sakura yesterday, I unlocked a new power, Nerve control.
The nervous system is the other part of our body's control system, the more active one.
The nerves that make up our nervous systems send signals from our brain to a part of our body.At a surface level, I'm able to twist the senses sent to our brain. I can make a person feel pain where there isn't, twist pain into pleasure or make the rations they are eating taste like ramen.
The applications are nearly endless.
Such fine control of the senses resembles genjutsu, but while genjutsu is done by controlling the brain, a task so complicated a ninja must rely on pre-know genjutsu jutsu with little variances to be effective.They are also easily dispelled through any shock to the nervous system, such as pain or a chakra flare.
However, genjutsu cannot access the deeper control system of the body. A genjutsu can't just outright make a person's heart stop beating.
My control is outside through the nerves, this means instead of controlling the brain through chakra, I instead control the communication between the brain and the body.
A genjutsu will tell the brain the left hand is holding a hot knife, and then convince the person to want to open their hand. If they have enough will they will resist and even while under the genjutsu so long as they don't open their hand, they will remain holding the knife.
My power will tell the hand that it must tell the brain it's holding a hot knife. I can also program it to where it'll always tell the brain it feels hot when holding the knife, or to just feel pain.
Clearing their head will do nothing. I don't know if they might be able to clear my control with some chakra application but they'd first need to realize how it works and differs from a regular genjutsu.
My control can also generate a signal where there is nothing. I can make an armless person feel their missing limb or make an enemy think his 2nd imaginary dick just got crushed.
But best of all I can spoof the brain signals, and take control of their body.
I can send a signal to a person's arm telling it to move. Tell a person's hand to open and drop the knife and most dangerous of all.
I can also block their brain signals.
This will essentially render a person brain dead while I'm doing it, unable to move or feel anything, and not able to control their chakra to mount a resistance.If I also block the lowest level of brain signals… they will not breathe and their heart will not receive instructions to beat.
Essentially a one-hit KO move, provided I can touch my enemy for more than a couple of seconds to set up the blockade and have the chakra to hold it long enough for them to perish, or to cut their throat while their brain is blocked.
As for using it on myself...It shares a lot of similarities with the Hachimon, the eight gate technique known to Rock Lee and Mighty Guy.
Similar to the first gate I can bypass my brain limitations and send stronger signals to my muscles, commanding them to move with enough force to bring about self-harm.
And similar to the eighth gate I can order my heart to beat faster.The problem is, with my current body, taking it too far would only result in my death. Maybe doubling my heart rate would be tenable, but quintupling it as the gate does will just have my heart exploding and my blood seeping out of everywhere from the pressure.
Though I am one to take power where I can get it, I do worry that once again it's only usable in close range.
With my thoughts organized, I head to training ground 4 and meet with the rest of Team 10 on time.
Anko shows up just a couple of minutes late.
"Life as a genin is pretty easy. From now on every morning we're heading out and doing some D-tier missions.In the afternoon we'll reconvene back at this training ground to train and work out."
She points to a pile of weights on the ground
"All of you will be wearing these while on missions"
Sakura's eye twitches
"Ehhh. So much"
Anko flashes her signature smile.
"Hehehem, you can take it.Since all 3 of you are currently focused on Taijutso you're getting the mighty Taijutsu treatment"
My eye twitches.Forbidden knowledge of green spandex doing ridiculous poses in front of the whole village.
I'm not a lazy person but even have to draw the line somewhere. And it is definitely before spandex.
For me and Hinata the weights fit under our clothes but Sakura's sleeveless dress and shorts leave her carrying the arm and weight muscles like bracelets
Due to the mass required to achieve their 15kg weight, they are so large they look like comically oversized shackles.
"They look so bad"
"Hahah, you'd look good in anything and nothing Sakura, we just gotta put up with it for the sake of practice"
Sakura blushes while Hinata pretends she didn't hear anything. She seems to be avoiding looking at me even more than usual and I fail at getting a reaction with the indirect tease.
"YOSH! Now let's get you your first official mission as a ninja."
