Zou Yue watched his father lock out Fan Xui and walked out of the room. "Did he just leave? Why did you send me to my room, dad? It was so mean of you. I could have said hi at least."
"No reason," his father scoffed and went back to his room.
As for his mother, she was looking at him with shimmering eyes. "You guys already know each other! That's awesome," she jumped over and hugged him.
"Yeah, he is awesome." He whispered with a small smile.
"Tell me all about it,"
"Well, where do I start, we met in the plane." they both had a deep conversation on how he got to know Fan Xui while eating the left over mochi..
His mother squealed loudly.
"You met him while you were travelling from G city? Oh, my god, that kind of coincidence only happens in novels. Then, then... you guys kept meeting. It's like destiny," she squealed like a little girl.
Zou Yue did not think much about this destiny part. He ate the mochi with relish.
"Much like a stalker." His father mumbled from inside his room.
"Honey, no, you can't discredit another man like that. He is such a sweet person how can he be a stalker huh?" his mother stormed over to his lurking form and pinched his arms.
"ow..." Zou Wei stormed out of the room and plopped on the sofa next to him. "Tell me, did you guys bump into each other accidentally all the time?"
"yes... but it was most likely because his company is close to the bakery and cafe I go to. He is not a stalker father. He is a good man, don't you think so too?"
Zou Wei frowned deeply. Both his son and wife were giving him an innocent puppy look, as if waiting for his confirmation.
"he is okay..."
"yay!! Dad, he is so nice, you know. That guy is the most powerful person I've ever met. I've never once seen him in action but overheard his ability is top notch,"
His mother spat out her tea, coughing loudly. "Yue" she slapped his forearm. "You can't talk about something sexual when I'm drinking something,"
"Sexual? Huh?" this time both his father and he gave his mother a questioning look.
She blushingly wiped herself clean. "You can't judge a man's qualities in bedroom form just rumours. Yue I know you want to share everything with me but...you can't just casually talk about it sexual stuff so suddenly with mother. Give me a warning next time,"
"Huh!!!" Zou Yue's eyes went wide in realisation. 'Shit, she doesn't know about the apocalypse and abilities. She wrongly thought that I was talking about Fan's abilities in bed....' he mentally slapped himself for the blunder. "I will warn you mum..." he said with a red face.
His father nudged him to stay silent. "Our child is still ignorant about a lot of things."
"Yeah, but Yue, what do you think of little Fan? Isn't he cute?"
"He is cute," Zou Yue admitted whist chewing on a juicy piece if mochi. This was the type that needs to be heated up before eating. The bite warmed his mouth instantly. He licked his lips. "So hot too...,"
When he opened his eyes, both his mother and father were looking at him with an unknown expression. His father had a lost look while his mother looked likes she found something interesting.
"Is there something on my face?" he wiped at his mouth and his cheeks.
"No silly, I only see a cute little face here," she pinched his cheeks with a dubious grin. "you know we can contact Fan Xui for dinner this Friday. I feel like the young man will like that idea as well,"
"No, but I disapprove of that," his father shouted all of a sudden.
"Why?" both Yue and his mother glanced at him simultaneously.
"It's just dinner dad, Fan Xui does not have a family. Last time when we met in the bakery, he did not want to eat alone. Poor guy must so lonely. He will most definitely appreciate dinners like this." Yue mumbled, placing the half eaten mochi on the plate.
He was still not sure if Fan Xui will be comfortable with the diner idea. But from the vibe he got when he was talking to his father, he knew that Fan Xui kind of adored it.
"Poor young man, he lost them at such a young age," his mother sighed loudly. "I hope you can be kind to him, honey. Last time you made the blunder on pointing out his disability," she glared at him.
"I was only telling him to stay out of the kitchen to stay safe. What if he gets burned or... worse, cuts himself."
Zou Yue glanced at his father with a small smile. "Dad, he is used to not having his vision. As far as I've seen, he can easily operate as a normal person, but he just needs some time to get used to the environment."
"So don't be too cautious with him. Let him do whatever he wants to. Because if he offered to help, he must have been confident in his abilities,"
While they were having the talks, the plate got empty so soon.
"I'll refill it," his mother happily ran to the kitchen.
"And dad Fan Xui will not stay blind for long,"
"What do you mean?" his father peered at him.
"He will find a magical spiritual plant and regain his vision in the future."
His father suddenly smiled. "Oh, I see.. that's good then," he left without a word and went back to his room.
Zou Yue confusedly looked at his back. His father seemed so happy to receive the news. 'he must really adore Fan Xui a lot huh.... my daddy is so cute!'
