"You see, you’re trapped here, and you’re as good as dead!" Seeking Shadow drew his Ion Sword "Shadow Kill".
Hazuki Masasuke looked up, blood flowing from his face.
Only then did Seeking Shadow realize that ever since Hazuki Masasuke had entered the rain, his body had started bleeding, as if what fell from the sky were millions of katanas, not droplets.
"This rain will continue until August 10th," said Hazuki Masasuke.
"You’re dying," Seeking Shadow observed Hazuki Masasuke’s despondent state.
"Now even the air has become my enemy, bitter, poisonous," Hazuki Masasuke’s voice was hoarse.
"Luckily I don’t need to breathe," Seeking Shadow said, "You are a disgraceful traitor. You deserve this fate, the price of betraying your oath is this high."
"I have only been loyal to Humans, always," Hazuki Masasuke turned to face the sea.
The violent wind slashed at his cheeks, the storm eroded his body, and the sea awaited to take his life.
"This way, you will be destroyed. You could surrender, and then spend the rest of your life in a sanctuary, we’ll design an isolation facility cut off from the natural environment," Seeking Shadow stepped towards Hazuki Masasuke. Capturing him alive was very valuable.
"My life wouldn’t have lasted a year anyway, it’s hard for a Mortal to become a partner of justice," Hazuki Masasuke looked up at the grand city.
His eyes brimmed with colors, so beautiful. Humans had achieved in one hundred years the technological progress that the witches hadn’t in thousands, now producing in one year the amount of material that would have taken several millennia before.
Precious civilizational accomplishments and the noble spirit of humans were all encapsulated in the dazzling brilliance before him.
"Look, all of this is about to be owned by new gods and even more powerful witches," Hazuki Masasuke pointed at the light ahead.
Seeking Shadow turned to look at the city lights; Jialong Slope really was beautiful.
"Our Witch is very powerful," Seeking Shadow knew Farosa was extremely strong and was on the verge of awakening.
"I no longer have the strength to prevent this from happening. The Witch’s boots will trample on the faces of Humans, and many will willingly accept this end."
"You’re with the Corporate Alliance, you’re a Ghost Warrior!" responded Seeking Shadow.
"It’s a done deal by now. Your actions, intentional or not, have nurtured an ultimate authority that cannot be defied, entrusting our fate to an Ancient Witch," Hazuki sat down cross-legged on the ground.
He had lost too much blood.
With his betrayal, the entire natural environment had become his enemy. Hazuki’s skin was already eroded by the rain. Nature was punishing the Oathbreaker in its most severe way.
"You killed Hosoda Yoshiyuki; you’re a bastard. Die in peace, and I will continue to resist mystic creatures, protect Humans, and uphold justice," Seeking Shadow walked up to Hazuki.
"You can’t resist the Ancient Witch."
"She’s no longer the Ancient Witch, she’s the Witch of the Cyber Era," Seeking Shadow stated.
Beside the pier, the sea churned incessantly, the waves rising, ready to drag away Hazuki’s mind, body, and soul.
"It’s going to kill you," Seeking Shadow watched the rising waters around him; the Forest Master was using nature to hunt him, every traitor had to die.
"Yes, and the last right of a person is to dispose of their own life," Hazuki said, looking at his sword.
Then, he thrust his katana into his abdomen and sliced it sideways.
"Go ahead," Hazuki murmured.
She swung "Shadow Kill," the ion blaze cutting through the cold wind, and Hazuki Masasuke’s head fell to the ground.
