Cybernetic Evolution System Chapter 114

He had almost forgotten about their presence.

He quickly approached them.

Meanwhile, Tiana and James pretended as though they hadn’t witnessed the bizarre scene that had just transpired.

Sensing one of the students approaching them, they exchanged glances and then sighed inwardly.

However, they didn’t look in his direction.

Perhaps he was just coming close to them and wasn’t approaching them.

"Excuse me," Sylas said, looking at the two Dungeon Services Nurses.

Tiana’s and James’s brows twitched.

Tiana turned to look at the young man before her and asked with a smile. "What is it? Are there any emergencies in the dungeon that you need to report?"

"Yes... No... I mean, yes! There’s an emergency that I need to report. I think that the Dungeon Hall Quest list is malfunctioning," Sylas blurted out.

"Whoa! Calm down, and tell us clearly what you’re trying to say," Tiana said, trying to calm Sylas’s anxious figure.

She thought that he had mispoken

"Is there any emergency or not?" she added.

"What is it?" she asked.

"I think that the... quest list is malfunctioning."

Tiana and James frowned as they exchanged glances with each other.

The news was not what they had expected.

Then they shifted their focus back to Sylas.

"Do we look like repairers?" Tiana asked, looking at Sylas with a raised brow.

James went back to eating his biscuits.

They were about to conduct their sweeping search for any hidden beasts or creatures that went above the standard limit of the First-Year Magical Swordsman Dungeon zones.

They weren’t paid enough to handle issues like a malfunctioning quest list.

He stood rooted in his position, unsure about how to respond.

He had run over here because whenever they had an issue related to the dungeons, their first instinct was to run to the nearest Dungeon Service Nurses.

This was the first time they had encountered a situation like a broken quest list. Nonetheless, his first instinct had been to run to them.

He realised that he should have gone searching for the repairmen instead.

However, since he was already here, they might as well take a look at the issue because they were also members of the academy staff.

"You guys are part of the academy staff, aren’t you? Even if it’s not your job, it’s still your responsibility to look into it, right?" Sylas said, his tone firm and expression solemn. Back straight.

’This brat,’ Tiana’s lips twitched.

Just as she was about to retort, James lightly tapped her hand and interrupted, "Okay. Can you first explain how the quest list is malfunctioning so we’ll see how we may be of help?"

The entire dungeon hall was equipped with cutting-edge technology that pushed the limits of the fusion between magic and technological advancements.

This technology enabled it to read data from the dungeon core and interpret it for human use efficiently, thereby eliminating the need for constant monitoring.

One such interpretation was the quest list, which listed the available beasts or creatures in a particular zone of a dungeon.

The data taken from the students, along with the quests they picked and the time they completed them, whether it was alone or with a group, and the beasts they turned in, created an algorithm which the dungeon hall used to make a near-perfect prediction of when a student was most likely to fall into danger.

Despite that, it wasn’t considered perfect, else they wouldn’t be dealing with the issue of powerful beasts emerging in the Magical Swordsman Department zone and killing students.

It was because of this that the dungeon hall was constantly monitored by the repairers to address any issues that arose.

It was precisely because of this that they were also present.

Therefore, for something like a quest list to malfunction was considered a significant issue and a gross oversight, as it endangered the lives of the students.

If that were the case, then someone would be fired.

Fortunately, as Dungeon Service Nurses, they had nothing to fear.

He quickly explained everything to them.

Tiana and James listened attentively.

They were stunned by the information they had just learned.

The goblin extermination quest was completed by one person in a single day.

And that person was none other than Ezekiel Zahara.

They turned to look at the exit door that Ezekiel had just walked through, heavy frowns settling on their faces.

Tiana refocused her gaze on Sylas and asked, "Are you sure about what you just said? Before you answer, I’ll warn you, lying to a Dungeon Service Nurse will get you into serious trouble. So answer truthfully."

"Yes. I meant every word I said," Sylas replied, pointing at the robotic receptionist across the room. "If you don’t believe me, you can go over there and check for yourselves."

He was already annoyed that they had failed to quickly respond to his alarms, and now he couldn’t help but grow even more irritated that they doubted him.

Tiana and James exchanged a glance once more and nodded in unison.

James took the biscuits, carefully wrapped them, and placed them inside his utility pocket.

They stood up from their seats, and Sylas led the way to the robotic receptionist.

Noticing Sylas and the Dungeon Nurses’ arrival, Draven and the others, who had been subtly observing their interaction, gave way for them to pass.

"Good day," the robotic receptionist said. "Class Three Dungeon Service Nurses Tiana and James. How may I help you?"

Its visor-eyes blinked, locking onto them.

"Don’t worry, we’re just here to take a look at something," Tiana replied, waving her hand casually as she glanced at the quest list with James.

Moments later, their eyes widened in shock. Read full story at novęlfire.net

"Hey, am I seeing this correctly? The brat was right," Tiana muttered, glancing at James from the corner of her eye.

Seeing the same expression on his face, she gulped.

"I’ll go in and confirm whether this is true or not. You should go and get the repairers here, just in case," James said, turning to Tiana.
