DailyLife of the King: Campione Chapter 41

Chapter 41: Nice to meet you my brother! Part 3

Chapter: Nice to meet you my brother! Part 3

Alexandre’s eyes narrowed, and he didn’t get what he was saying. "...What do you mean?"

Asahi drank his iced chocolate milk before answering nonchalance.

"MHMM~ sweet~Im talking about our mother who is reborn you being Godslayer.

The room fell into stunned silence.

Even Sir Iceman—who had seen many absurd things in his life—felt his breath hitch slightly.

’That make sense,’ Alice thought her usual amused expression faltered, her violet eyes flickering with intrigue.

So the reason why Asahi calling him brother due to this.

Lucretia, who had been calmly sipping her tea, paused.

Everyone was surprised by the revelation Asahi said.

The weight of Asahi’s words settled heavily over the room.

"Our mother—the one who reborn you into a Campione."

It was their first time hearing someone like this

The idea of Campione’s "creation" had always been shrouded in mystery.

They knew the process—defeat a [Heretic God], become a Godslayer.

But the mechanics?

The why and how of it?

That was unknown, even to the Campiones themselves.

And now, Asahi had spoken of a mother responsible for the birth of Campione.

Alexandre’s sharp gaze didn’t waver.

His expression remained unreadable, but there was a flicker of something beneath the surface.

His mind drifted back to the battles he had fought.

The Heretic Gods he had faced, the cryptic words they had sometimes thrown at him—

"illegitimate child of the cursed Witch."

He had dismissed those words before.

Meaningless insults from dying heretic gods.

But now...

Was there truth in them?

Alexandre leaned forward slightly, his voice sharp and demanding.

"...Tell me, Who is she?"

Asahi placed his cup down. His golden eyes gleamed—not just with mischief, but with something deeper. Fondness.

"You really don’t remember her, huh?" He stretched his arms behind his head, exhaling as if the revelation was long overdue. "Man... I guess it was to be expected."

Alexandre’s fingers tapped against the table, patience thinning. "Stop stalling. Answer the question."

Asahi’s grin widened.

"Alright, alright," he said before speaking the name that would shake the very foundation of their understanding.

"Everyone call her [The All-Giving Woman —Pandora.]"

Everyone in the room instinctively recalled the name. A name buried deep within the myths of ancient Greece.

Pandora.

The legendary first woman, sculpted by Hephaestus, granted beauty by Aphrodite, and given a fateful box by the gods. The woman who, out of curiosity, unleashed calamity upon the world—yet within that box, she also preserved hope.

Some myths call her a bringer of misfortune, while others whisper that her true divinity is ancient and long forgotten by time.

They were said to be the wife of Epimetheus—brother to Prometheus, the Fool.

There were many myth theories, and even among scholars, Pandora’s existence was shrouded in mystery.

Yet now, this child—Asahi—had just claimed that she was not only real, but she was the mother of a Campione.

The weight of that statement settled over the room.

For a moment, nobody spoke.

Asahi blinked at the quiet stares. "...Why is everyone so quiet?"

Lucretia smiled, amused. "Fufufu...You sure bring surprises, Asahi. Don’t you realize? The origin of a Campione has always been shrouded in mystery."

Asahi tilted his head. "Huh? But isn’t it common knowledge that you just have to defeat a [Heretic God] to become one?"

Lucretia nodded. "Yes, that is what everyone believes. But hearing someone say that a Campione was created someone is enough to shake the foundations of everything we know."

Sir Iceman and Princess Alice nodded in agreement.

"Oh." Asahi blinked. Then, grinning cheekily, he shrugged. "My bad. Then make it secret then."

....

Everyone looks at him, smiling at them innocently, saying shock of revelation.

Alice sighed at his lack of awareness and pulled his cheek—right as he took a sip of his iced chocolate.

"Gwey(Hey)—!?" Asahi sputtered as the cold drink nearly spilled.

Alice gave him a sweet, almost scolding smile. "You really don’t understand the weight of your words, do you?"

Asahi rubbed his cheek, pouting. "It’s not that big a deal..."

’it is a big deal!’ Everyone complained.

Alexandre, still composed, finally spoke.

"...What do you mean by ’realm’?"

Asahi blinked, then noticed his drink was just emptied.

Ask for more.

"Huh? Oh, that." Lucretia happily took his drink, refilled more, and returned it to Asahi.

"She lives in the Netherworld— the space between life and death. A world where time doesn’t flow the same way it does here."

The netherworld is known as the Boundary of Life and Immortality, Youmingjie, Menog, and the Idea Realm. It is the area of the Astral Plane where souls go after their lives have ended.

A domain known to mages and witches alike as an untouchable.

Dangerous realm.

Alexandre’s black eyes narrowed. "And you’re saying that I was there... and forgot her?"

Asahi nodded as if it were the most obvious thing in the world. "Yup! Mom, said It happens every time. The moment a Campione leaves on her realm, they will lose all memories of her."

Princess Alice, ever the scholar, placed a hand on her chin, thoughtful.

"That... would explain why no one truly understands how a Campione is born." Her violet eyes glimmered with intrigue. "If the one responsible for their rebirth is erased from their memory... then all that remains is the victory against the Heretic God."

Alexandre remained silent.

His fingers tapped against the table in a slow, steady rhythm.

"...Then how do you remember her?" he finally asked, which everyone was asking for.

Why don’t all campione have memories of her, but He knows?

"Oh, me? that’s easy!" Asahi pointed at himself with innocent confidence.

"I was special!"

....

Silence.

Lucretia let out a soft chuckle.

Princess Alice covered her mouth, suppressing laughter.

Sir Iceman... was startled.

Alexandre’s lips twitched slightly as if struggling between disbelief and irritation.

Maybe both.

"This little brat..."
