"Alright give me a moment." I said to Ouranos before concentrating.
'Lets go with my ability to speak spanish, russian and french for technique mending for now and see how that fares.' I though as I made the oath.
There was a sudden pressure in my chest as the oath took effect and I waited for the change to settle before checking the result.
'Well that barely did anything. Looks like I need more useless stuff given up to fully recover unless I want to give up something actually important.' I thought with a sigh before pausing 'That might work actually.' I thought having an interesting idea.
I made the heavenly oath to never try to return to Earth and immediately there was an intense reaction as it felt like my soul was boiling and I felt my technique immediately mend. Cursed energy surged through my body even to the point it caused the air around me to warp from the intensity before I brought it to heel.
"Now that's what I call a boost. Gotta be at least half my current max being added on." I muttered before casually shifting my hand into a clawed form and back again. "Back to normal finally. Give me a couple days to prepare and then point me in the direction of the beast." I said to Ouranos. Updates are released by novel·fire·net
"Granted, you have three days. Hermes, compile the information on the beasts movements in that time." the god said seriously.
"Of course." Hermes said with a bow.
All three of us left the chamber without a word after that and while I was tempted to tease Hermes I decided against it given the situation.
"What was it you gave up?" Hestia asked once we were alone with a concerned expression.
I just smiled though "Something I should have given up long ago but just couldn't let go of. I am here now and my future is here and that is enough." I said relaxed.
I had ignored it for the most part but I can't deny that a part of me yearned for Earth like a dull ache in my chest. It was no wonder that releasing that small obsession so thoroughly had caused such a drastic reaction with the oaths boost. Not only was my cursed techniques back in business but my total amount of cursed energy had grown by half my previous maximum. -
I really wasn't losing out with this trade though I may come to regret it in the long run. Still for now I had work to do as I prepared for fighting a mythical monster of ancient disaster, no pressure right? The first thing I needed to do was reforge my weapon to handle my current level of power. After that I needed to do the same for my mask/helm but not my armor. Against anything else armor might be in my best interest but the Knuckelavee was mostly reliant on it's toxin to fight so the armor played no role.-
My head though was my most vital area so that required truly extensive protective measures. Finally I needed to prepare containers for the monsters drops that will no doubt also have a toxic nature. The thing didn't have skin from the records I had read so there was no hide to claim but the bones, blood and organs of the beast were no doubt going to be downright acidic and thus needed special containers. There was no fucking way I was going to give up on the stuff.-
Are you kidding me? That monster is not only at the peak level six or new seven monster rex level but also a unique existence. There is literally no other chance I could get materials in the entire world unless the dungeon spits out another of the things but that's a vain hope at best. If it was going to happen it probably already would have but since it hasn't theres probably a reason. My theory that the ancient beasts were variants that had mutated extensively until they reached their current state would explain it perfectly. The conditions for another identical existence to come about were simply next to impossible to achieve so there is only one of each.-
Whatever the case the materials I could gain from the beast would be worth a city due to sheer rarity if nothing else. We arrived back at the manor quickly and I immediately holed up in my workshop to get to work. For my weapon I set my current one in the armory to be retired before grabbing Amphisbaena bones, crystals, scales, claws and fangs. I refined all of them to their utmost possible but couldn't ascend them as I simply wasn't there yet. If I had to guess I'd say my limit for ascending materials was now at the level four material but not higher. -
Don't get me wrong that was insanely good as ascended materials were equivalent to higher leveled materials in value or even higher since they had unique properties. An ascended level four material was likely about as valuable as an unascended level six material more or less. Anyways I took these freshly refined materials and smooshed them together like mixing paint, but like with my hands and in the air. Using my technique I thoroughly joined the materials together into a type of alloy blob that glowed white in an intense way. -
Solidifying the blob I set it aside to grab a cursed stone from a green dragon the size of my head that I proceeded to refine and shrink. That's right I can refined stones now! Well technically I could do so before but doing so caused them to stop being energy containers. My guess was that this was mystery at play and I was absolutely with it. By refining the stone not only did it become smaller but it also became even better at holding energy. I couldn't say if it was as good as a level five stone since I didn't have any for comparison but that was my guess.-
Anyways the head sized stone shrank down to the size of a golfball and shone almost blindingly from the concentration of energy within it. Reaching down I grabbed the previously created alloy and with but a thought the material took the shape of my previous weapon. I easily pushed the stone into the bottom of the handle. With another flex of my technique the stone began to drill through the unfinished weapon like an earthworm in soil until the stone was fully integrated throughout it like veins.
