Darkstone Code Chapter 96

When Lynch offered to auction off the bidding seats for money, Richard wanted to say something, but just as he was about to open his mouth, Lynch stopped him with a glance.

This was another part of Lynch’s plan for revenue. If you want to make money, want to make big money, how could it be possible without taking a bit of risk?

There’s no such thing as love without reason in this world, and certainly no way Lynch would bear all the risks himself like a Saint, leaving benefits to others. From the outset, one of his targets was those seats.

Even for people like Richard, their free seats would gradually be revoked in the future. Making money without any contribution—is that possible?

Working in a factory carries less risk, but the earnings are also lower. Risk and reward are certainly proportional; the greater the risk, the higher the reward. Of course, sometimes the definition of risk goes beyond just the increase or decrease in wealth.

The fact that the children earned the top sales commission was something Lynch intentionally wanted to show others.

Perhaps only Richard understood why the children reached the top sales spot—because they possessed more seats.

Seats represent potential. The more seats there are, the more remarkable the potential. It’s simply a process of quantitative change.

If one out of ten people is willing to buy something, then in one hundred people there would be ten, in two hundred people would be twenty. The purchasing power of twenty people may not necessarily be higher than ten people, but it’s certainly not lower.

Some might start reconsidering the risks and have a tendency to back down once they’ve calmed down. But Lynch offered them hope—just get into the top three, and if their commission doesn’t reach ten thousand, Lynch will top it up!

This gives them other ideas. Even if their commission can’t exceed ten thousand, as long as it’s higher than others, Lynch will make up the income difference.

In other words, they invested nine thousand dollars for the auction. As long as they are in the top three, they will have a profit of one thousand dollars!

This is a simple calculation that everyone can make. Yes, everyone!

This is one of Lynch’s objectives. Across the state, there are fourteen cities. Some are larger, some smaller. Averaging, if each city has three thousand seats, this totals forty-two thousand seats.

Forty-two thousand seats, five dollars per seat, gives Lynch approximately two hundred thousand dollars weekly income just from seat fees.

These salespeople won’t rely on fate alone. As long as someone stirs things up, Lynch’s revenue will significantly increase. He will set up fancy but expensive items each period.

These items are prepared for those salespeople with crooked thoughts, serving as tools for them to hit the top three in the region.

Weekly twenty thousand seat fee, monthly eighty thousand, plus actual income and bonuses outside the revenue line, these people can provide him with at least over a hundred thousand dollars every month!

Is this his entire plan?

After posing a question, Lynch gave them time to consider, then smiled and invited everyone to a celebratory feast.

Except for the two who lost their free seats and left, everyone else, including Vera and her two accountants, went with Lynch to a rather good hotel in Sabin City.

Various exquisite meals were continuously laid out on the table. Lynch had previously coordinated with the hotel staff; the dinner was organized in a buffet-style.

They even opened a small conference hall for Lynch specifically and offered three songs for free—the hotel had a dedicated band. After the third song, they’d start charging, but Lynch wasn’t stingy with this money. He wanted everyone to experience living in luxury!

The long tables on both sides were covered with different foods, and a somewhat locally famous contralto singer performed soothing songs on stage. Lynch even secured services from an agency.

Just when everyone thought this was all there was, Lynch made them see things they wouldn’t usually witness.

Coolly dressed models suddenly appeared on-site. The contralto singer smiled and left, replaced by a younger girl singing popular songs.

Lynch walked onto the stage, hugging two coolly dressed girls, with two bottles of champagne in his hands. As he stood by the microphone, he raised the champagne, pouring it over the girls’ heads and bodies.

The girls, initially shocked, quickly recovered, even starting to dance as the liquor drenched them, setting a hot atmosphere in the conference hall.

Then, fans started to spin on both sides behind him, and staff constantly threw stacks of cash into the blowers, money swirling and flying everywhere. At that moment, everyone held their breath in surprise!

"Ladies and gentlemen, the party has started!"

Food, alcohol, wealth, hormones—everyone was immersed!

After a brief moment of stillness, everyone began to become wild!

Lynch extricated himself from the girls—this was his first demonstration of how to squander money after earning it. Since money came so easily, these people would soon learn this.

You can’t expect someone who adheres strictly to societal morals to be an accomplice in your wealth acquisition, but these people can. They will gradually lose themselves in money and become Lynch’s tools for making money.

In just around ten minutes, the young models sent by the agency taught these young people how to enjoy themselves.

Lynch escorted two girls out—one was Vera, the other was the girl who came with Vera, "Sorry for not giving you a heads up..."

He apologized for his actions, as indeed, those inside had gotten rather unruly. Vera blushed and said it was okay, and the girl also indicated she understood.

The girl gave Lynch a special look. She initially thought it was a regular job, but clearly, from what she had seen so far, that wasn’t the case.

Afterwards, Lynch took them to the hotel restaurant for a lavish dinner, then arranged a vehicle to take them home; he had to clean up the mess later.

Just as Vera got into the car, the vehicle started to leave, and she suddenly asked Lynch a question, "Do big companies celebrate ?" Her face was a bit red with both embarrassment and anger.

Lynch nodded slightly, "They get even crazier..." With that, he whispered something in Vera’s ear, making her cover her face and retract her head. The two exchanged glances briefly, and Lynch bid them farewell again, watching the car disappear quickly into traffic.

When Lynch returned to the small conference hall, the room was filled with strange smells. Some seemed very uncomfortable but not really in pain, murmuring. Some girls’ clothes were strewn everywhere; they were kneeling on the ground, picking up the scattered cash piece by piece, completely disregarding how unladylike they seemed.

The only ones out of place here were the children, still eating and someone packing food into their bags.

When they noticed Lynch arrived, they were scared. A few children held plates of steak awkwardly. Lynch just smiled, gestured, and took them to a lounge... no, into the VIP room.

He discovered someone in the lounge already, so he took the children to the VIP room.

In the VIP room, he looked at the children, nodded, and asked a question, "Were you sent here by your parents or are you from welfare homes?"

"Some were sent by parents, but more are from orphanages," the oldest child replied.

It’s relatively rare for parents to send children to become child laborers, apart from step-parents or families struggling to survive. Generally, these children are mainly from various welfare homes.

Lynch nodded again, "Would you be willing if I applied to become your guardian?"

He leaned back, crossed his legs, "You don’t need to call me father or dad; I’m just your boss. This could save money that would be transferred to welfare homes and give you more autonomy. What do you think?"

The older child seemed tempted but cautiously replied, "We need to go back and discuss it with everyone."

Lynch nodded repeatedly, "Sure, and have the waiter at the door pack those foods for you. Even if you’re not afraid of soiling the food, you should be careful not to dirty your bags..."
