My legs gave way and I knelt beside him. I raised my head to look at him. My tears blurred my eyes but I couldn’t wipe them away. I couldn’t see his face clearly no matter how hard I tried.
He placed his big hand on my face and said softly, “Don’t cry. If you continue to cry, I won’t play with you anymore.”
I paused, and the tears flowed even more violently.
Feeling helpless, he pointed at Jing Tian. “That person! Tell her to stop crying. Hurry up and coax her! I always lose patience when she cries! Why hasn’t she changed at all? She won’t stop crying!”
Jing Tian helped me up and patted my head. “Be good. Don’t cry.”
I grabbed his hand and pointed at cousin Mo. “Jing Tian, cousin Mo, he’s cousin Mo. He’s not dead. He’s cousin Mo!”
