Kunii Shuichi swiftly crouched beside Dubian Che’s desk, whispered sneakily, "Dubian, do girls look cute and yawn after they wake up?"
"Ah? Where did you hear that from?"

"They’re usually not in a good mood, completely opposite of cute. Stop talking to me, let me sleep for a while, just wake me up when the opening ceremony starts." Dubian Che shifted his head in another direction and continued to sleep.
Slowly, Kunii Shuichi stood fully upright and exchanged glances with Saito Keisuke; both took a deep breath and communicated through their eyes:

He slept until the eight o’clock opening ceremony, when Dubian Che finally mustered some energy and followed the crowd to the gymnasium.
In previous years, the opening ceremony was kicked off by the Student Council President’s speech, but this year’s Cultural Festival didn’t feature the Student Council’s presence at all, with the Executive Committee Chair commanding from the stage instead.

Suddenly, a thunderous applause from below pulled him back from his inner monologue.
Jiutiao Meijie turned and walked off the stage, handed the microphone to him, and both went behind the curtain.
Backstage, Jiutiao’s mother was looking at a "Cultural Festival Activity Guide."
Her face was getting younger; if not for her aristocratic hairstyle and the elegant kimono, she could be mistaken for Xiaoquan Aonai’s age.

"Let Mr. Dubian go," Jiutiao’s mother interrupted her daughter, "You stay with me for a while, and once Mr. Dubian is done, you two can have fun together."
"What’s fun about a high school Cultural Festival?" Jiutiao Meijie pouted disdainfully.
"You’re in high school, how would you know if it’s fun if you don’t go? I’ll call you once I’ve handed out the leaflets." Saying this, Dubian Che walked towards the exit.
At the doorway, he suddenly remembered something and turned back to say, "By the way, there’s a performance by the Wind Instrument Club at ten, make sure to come watch me."
Jiutiao Meijie crossed her arms and said nothing, while her mother smiled warmly and nodded at him.

"I guess with my reputation, I should choose the school gate."
Kiyono Lin burst into laughter, mockingly stating, "I almost forgot, you’re the scumbag who hits on girls."
"If even you say that about me, I might as well lie on a track at Shibuya Station and kill myself."
"Before that, make sure to finish distributing the leaflets."
