Norton had no choice but to step in and explain on behalf of his boss.
"I’m sorry, Miss Monna. Our boss probably had something really urgent come up—"
As Norton struggled to come up with a decent excuse for Morrison, Monna tilted her chin and gave him a dreamy look.
"It’s alright. I love how wild he is."
Seriously, what’s up with women these days? Each one is more intense than the last.
Since the lady herself didn’t seem to mind, Norton figured there was no point in explaining further. He simply carried out the instructions Morrison had left him with before storming off.
"Miss Monna, let me drive you home."
On the way back, Monna casually tried to fish for information.
"Where was your boss rushing off to in such a hurry just now?"
Norton gave an awkward smile.
"You saw what happened too, Miss Monna. I honestly have no idea. I’m just as clueless as you are."
That was the truth. All he had seen was a group of graduates. Nothing more.
Monna switched tactics.
"Has your boss started dating anyone lately?"
Internally, Norton wanted to scream. But on the surface, he kept playing dumb.
"I wouldn’t know anything about that."
Monna frowned, clearly dissatisfied.
"Aren’t you his personal assistant? If you don’t know, who does?"
"Sorry to clarify, I’m the older brother, Norton. I work as President Mo’s assistant, mainly handling external affairs. As for his personal life... that would be my younger brother, Sean’s area of expertise."
Norton smartly pushed all the responsibility onto his twin brother Sean—who, thankfully, wasn’t around to refute him.
Since the two brothers looked almost identical, people often mixed them up. It wasn’t uncommon to hear someone stumbling through "Norton... Sean? Sean... Norton?" in confusion. Fortunately, both of them had the same last name—Xiao—so the smarter ones just went with "Mr. Xiao" to avoid any awkwardness.
Still, people who spent more time with them eventually caught on. Norton was the calm and composed one, while Sean had a more cheerful, lively personality.
But in Monna’s case, her obsessive affection for Morrison had caused Morrison to avoid her whenever possible, which meant she rarely got the chance to interact with either brother. It was no wonder she kept getting them mixed up.
Monna huffed when she heard Norton’s explanation.
"Is Morrison out of his mind? Who hires twins to work by his side? Isn’t that just asking for confusion and embarrassment?"

Those were Monna’s exact words, and Norton had no choice but to play along.
"Absolutely, Miss Monna. You’ve got remarkable taste."
Meanwhile, on the other side of town, Morrison had barely gotten into his car before immediately dialing Lilian’s number.
That moment just now—when he had his arm around Monna—Lilian had seen everything. And now, he had to explain.
He couldn’t risk a misunderstanding. Not with her.
All the pride he’d been holding onto, all the coldness and distance over the past few days, vanished in an instant the second she saw him with another woman.
Now, there was only one thing on his mind:
Catch up to her. And explain.
After hopping into a taxi with her classmates, Lilian received a call from Morrison.
The image from just moments ago flashed in her mind—him, holding a stunning and seductive woman in his arms.
