Daughter of Fire ( The Daughter of Fire Saga Book 1 ) Chapter 24

S Ø R E N

WRITTEN IN ICHOR; the blood of the gods.

The Infidelity Treaty

Est. 1697 AD

This treaty hereby declares that no god nor goddess shall indulge in fraternising with mortals in ways in which a half-blood offspring will result. For the safety of the gods, as well as any existing half-blood offspring living prior to the making of this treaty, no contact is permitted between either party. No exceptions. In the case of death on either part, the half-blood’s loved ones may be contacted discretely and given some sort of mortal compensation. Any violations of this will be dealt with by banishment.

Especially in the case of the eldest gods and goddesses, infidelity shall be treated as a criminal offence and the newborn offspring may perish —depending on the level of threat they pose with or without godly powers —under the judgement of the high court. In signing this treaty, one accepts all of the above conditions; indirectly but effectively swears upon the River Styx; and therefore, cannot plead innocent in the high court.

Signed, The Olympian gods.
