Dead Girls Don’t Say No? Chapter 69

Raven stood in the dusty corridor of the mall, calm as the air around her shifted with the scent of rot and old blood. Her boots moved on the ground without a sound. Now wearing her new shadow cloth assult uniform.

Threaded from lightweight metal, her customized armor moved subtly with each motion, flexible as silk but able to stop bullets like chainmail. Version one is crude by her standards, but it's the future of her arsenal mobile, upgradable, and light weight forged through Technomancer abilities. Raven has not even begun to fully explore the full limits of shadow cloth yet.

Her HK416D hung in her grip, loaded and silenced with an omni silencer. The twin magazines beneath it taped together for easy reloads. A fullly black facial assault helmet sealed her face entirely. Even her breath was quiet through internal sound filters.

The scent hit her harder through the helmets air filters. As she neared her destination, the smell of old decay and unwashed bodies trailing out from the Red Blood Raiders’ outpost. “Follow the smell,” she whispered to herself. It has never failed her. The closer she came, the more rancid the air became. Her drones remained just behind her in the upper recesses of the ceiling. Her poison delivery system was already set up in her backpack.

Two guards stood at the entrance to what was once a designer clothing store. Now the windows were broken, the glass crusted with dried blood and the mannequins inside missing heads. Without stopping, Raven gave a simple mental command.

Pew. Pew.

'Thud'

'Thud'

Both guards dropped before their brains could register her presence or their deaths. Their rifles hit the tile floor. Raven didn’t stop. She reached their bodies, stepped over them, and looked at the camera system mounted above the store with a mental command. Her Technomancer powers engaged, tracing the digital camera view angles and hijacking the signal. In less than a second, she looped every camera feed into a 17-second repeat loop.

"They won’t even know I'm here until they are already dead." She said.

As she stood before the entrance, the true horror began. Piled just inside were the corpses of women—stacked like garbage, mutilated beyond recognition. Some had bullet holes in their foreheads. Others looked half eaten. A few were missing limbs. Flies circled them, and a sticky wetness rolled onto the floor from them.

Raven stared without blinking. She did not look away. "They stacked them like trash. Time to return the favor."

Her drones moved, one gliding left and the other sweeping right above the rafters. She stepped into the store, rifle raised, the floor sticky under her boots. The clothing racks still stood, dusty and warped, forming a perfect maze of soft cover. Moving between them in silence, she heard the quiet sound of voices up ahead. Raiders chatting. Unaware of her presence.
