A month has passed since the announcement of the Inter-Academy tournament, where students from various academies would fight each other.
Everyone was busy trying to improve themselves as fast as they could. They were attracted by the rewards that could be theirs if they performed well.
Though the specific rewards were not announced, based on what they heard from seniors and the brief descriptions given by the professor who announced the tournament, everyone understood that the rewards are much more substantial than the tournaments held in the academy.
So, everyone is working hard to make those rewards theirs. There are fewer than four months for them to gain those rewards.
Less than four months is not because a month has passed. No, because every academy would be present, not all students can go and participate in the tournament.
The academies would filter the students and select three.
Only three students from each academy would be participating in the tournament. If there were too many participants, then it would take years to complete the tournament.
So, every academy would filter its students and bring three students to the tournament.
With every academy participating in this tournament, having three from each academy is too much, but having only one participant from each academy would not be conducive to the tournament.
So, the number was settled at three per academy.
These three would be selected through another tournament a month before the real tournament. Once the three were selected, in the remaining month, the academy would dump some resources to improve those three.
So, the students had only three months once the announcement came, and now there are only two months.
In the month that passed, there were a few changes in Aaron’s life. First, as he restarted diving into the dungeons, his level improved. Of course, though he restarted diving into the dungeons again, it was not as much as he used to.
There were some classes that he couldn’t miss, and sometimes, he had to dive into lower-ranking dungeons for loot. There was a lot of high-ranking loot, but he couldn’t pull that out, as that could bring disaster not only to him but also to his parents.
Though the world believes that Death Mage has no future, just because he reached the top rank in the exam, he made it onto the hit list of the Cults.
For now, he was safe from them as he was inside the academy, but safety can’t be guaranteed for his parents. Luckily, they weren’t as interested in them as they were in him. The only reason his name even made it into the list was to make numbers and get headlines like "Top Ranker Slain".
They didn’t matter to him, but that was something he didn’t know.
Even if he didn’t matter much, once he showed high-ranking loot this early, he would definitely become a genuine target, and so would his parents.
He was not strong or rich enough to protect his parents. So, it was wise to grow in a low-key manner and show his strength only when needed.
The upcoming tournament is one such he needed to show his strength. Only by doing so would he be able to develop smoothly in the future.
Of course, he would warn his parents and pull them away from their hometown or assign some guards to protect them using the rewards from that tournament. That could be possible to do so.
If he lay down due to the threat, his growth would be reduced. It was not like he had some way to get the resources needed to improve himself. He can only depend on the alliance and the academy to get some resources to improve himself.
If he doesn’t take this chance to improve himself, he would remain weak, and Cults, they are known to kill people, not just geniuses, to stop the alliance, but killing people as offerings and as a weak person, he would become an offering.
Only by being strong can he be able to protect himself and his family.
So, until he was strong or a situation arises where he needs to show his true strength, he decided to be low-key.
In the month that passed, though he dived more into loot dungeons, it’s not like he didn’t dive into experience dungeons. With the 100x EXP perk, he gained a lot of levels.

Aaron’s level increased to level 105, a total of 18 levels.
With those increased levels, the FSPs on the status once again improved by a lot. He could dump them in Perception, but having too high Perception was giving him a headache.
He observed that as long as the value doesn’t exceed INT, then it would be all well and good.
In the skill section, three skills improved due to constant usage of the skills. In addition to these three, there was another skill that improved, Summon Skeleton.
This improved because Aaron dumped SPs into that skill. A total of 16,000 SPs were gone by improving the skill rank from Bronze Rank 7 to 9.
Instead of increasing other skills, he decided to improve this one, as it increased his undead army by a lot, and also, now his skill is one step away from the Silver Realm.
Once his skill reaches the silver realm, his grade would increase to Elite, and his attributes would gain a lot of boost.
In addition to these, there is another change in his life, Zara.
