Deities Are All Just My Food Chapter 478

Lin Baici had also noticed the billboard, but ever since he came into money, he didn’t care about such small amounts anymore. Moreover, it was meant to be leisure and entertainment; using Eater God to clear the game was, in a sense, an overkill.

"Whether it’s free or not doesn’t matter, I can treat everyone. The key point is the record, I hope to refresh it!"

Qian Jiahui turned to Lin Baici, "Come on, Old White, it’s time for your performance!"

Lin Baici shook his head, uninterested.

"Don’t be so ambitious, just have fun!"

Ji Xinyan wanted to say, are you guys insane?

Boys usually bring girls here, eager to spend more time in the escape room. Even if they couldn’t foster any romantic feelings, it was still pleasant to be with a fragrant girl. But you two, one shouting about breaking the record, the other without a word. I haven’t even gotten a good look at the props in the escape room, and you’ve already broken four levels.

There’s absolutely no game experience!

Ji Xinyan wasn’t concerned about breaking records at all. She just wanted to spend more time with Lin Baici in the escape room, hoping that, by benefitting from the suspension bridge effect, he might start to fancy her.

That’s why this kind of game is best played with just two people.

Fang Mingyuan didn’t care, as he preferred basketball over this type of game. Hu Wenwu thought Lin Baici was very impressive, but he still wanted to compete. After all, Ji Xinyan and Bai Jiao were in this group.

Men always want to show off in front of beautiful girls.

"Stop wasting time, let’s hurry up!"

Pei Fei pushed Lin Baici into the next escape room, "Now that we have saved money, we can have a good dinner tonight!"

"If you guys want to enjoy the game fully, just wait here for Zhang Zhixu and the rest to come."

Lin Baici reminded them, his implication being that he was getting ready to quickly solve the puzzles.

Bai Jiao felt Lin Baici was too arrogant. There were still five levels left, and she didn’t believe he could solve each one within five minutes.

So, Bai Jiao followed.

Confident in her intelligence, which she felt was higher than that of many other girls given her fair skin, she was ready to find the answer first in the next level, beating Lin Baici.

After everyone entered the room, the staff hidden in the dark quickly came out and shut the door, creating a tense atmosphere typical of an escape room.

A buzzer sounded in the room, followed by the lights ’clicking’ off, completely plunging the space into darkness.

Ji Xinyan screamed and lunged to the left, grabbing hold of something—she knew Lin Baici was there.

"Damn, what’s going on?"

"Xinyan, are you alright?"

Pei Fei was also worried.

"Don’t panic, I have a lighter!"

Fang Mingyuan shouted, and after a few seconds, with a flick, a lighter was lit.

A burst of flame ignited, its dim red glow brightening the surroundings. Soon, everyone turned on their phone flashlights.

Fang Mingyuan felt embarrassed. How could he forget about flashlights?

But he was quick-witted and immediately complained, ", there’s no sense of horror!"

Hu Wenwu, seeing Ji Xinyan grabbing onto Lin Baici with her chest pressed against his roommate’s arm, felt envious.

The room was the size of a study, furnished with a floor lamp about as tall as a person. A white lampshade bore a red English word on it. ʀᴇᴀᴅ ʟᴀᴛᴇsᴛ ᴄʜᴀᴘᴛᴇʀs ᴀᴛ novel•fire.net

The walls around it were adorned with photographs, portraits, and a moose head specimen hung on the north wall - all very ordinary things. However, the walls also had English words of various shapes and sizes, like ’dead,’ ’cry,’ ’crazy,’ words that could induce discomfort in people. They were all written with dark red paint, resembling fresh blood.

Besides, there were bizarre patterns drawn, such as a half-crying, half-laughing clown face.

The floor was marked with a pentagram magic circle, with the number 666 at its center, looking as though it was scrawled out by a dying person’s finger. Coupled with the dark environment and the flashlight beams, it still looked quite scary.

"I know, in the West, 666 is an unlucky number that represents evil, symbolizing the devil!"

Because the light was dim, Hu Wenwu felt less socially anxious and boldly made the remark.

"Symbolizing the demon Satan, right?"

Pei Fei had studied astrology and tarot cards.

"Can these candles be lit?"

Fang Mingyuan spotted some candles around the magic circle and thought that the clue to escape might lie with them.

"Then what are you waiting for?"

The competition had already started.

Lin Baici watched Fang Mingyuan light the candles, feeling sentimental. If this were God’s ruins with rules pollution, just the act of lighting candles could have likely gotten several people killed.

As the candlelight flared, Bai Jiao immediately widened her eyes in search of clues, constantly moving positions, observing from various angles.

Ji Xinyan wasn’t interested in solving puzzles, so she just followed Lin Baici, "Any discoveries?"

"Uh-huh, got a lead!"

Hearing this, everyone looked over eagerly.

Bai Jiao curled her lip, thinking Lin Baici was bluffing. Everyone had just entered less than two minutes ago, and yet you’ve already found the key point?

Lin Baici stood still, using his flashlight to scan each wall and the items on the floor. After a few glances, without waiting for Lin Baici to explain, and without asking him, everyone continued wracking their brains.

Except for Ji Xinyan, everyone was playing an escape room game for the first time. They found it very exciting and honestly wanted to prove their intelligence.
