Moli’s massive tail stirred behind her, sprouting structures similar to dorsal fins that parted the cool seawater for some distance.
The tails of the royal Whale-man Species were extremely long, an organ adapted for movement on the Sea Floor, though they were all quite lazy, their activity mostly confined within their Sea Trench homes.
But as Lingna’s Mother had said, Moli was a beautiful Whale-man that even Lord Ramasitia admired, so for a moment, Lingna, the Little Guy, was utterly mesmerized.
"My name is Moli. What’s your name?"
"Ling... Lingna! Lady Moli, we are Crabmen sent by Lord Fragrance Soul to assist you. Father has been unable to contact you and has been very anxious..."
"Right, that’s why I came looking for you... Do you know Mr. Fischer? I just saw you talking to him."
"Ah, Fischer is a Human I met on that big ship above sea... um, he was very kind to me, and he even gave me something pretty. Look!"
Lingna held up the Earth Marrow in her hand, which Moli recognized as an item Fischer had purchased at the Magic Market.
"Fischer is a good person. He said he can help the royal family and he gave me a way to contact him. But I need to ask my father first... I sneaked out, so now that I’ve found Lord Royal, he won’t scold me, hehe..."
"Is that so? Then take me to your father quickly."
Moli smiled, but her gaze inevitably drifted in the direction Fischer had left, her thoughts unreadable. Only the great whale tail behind her slapped the surface, opening a small gap in the waves.
Mr. Fischer...indeed, a very friendly Human.
Moli was hiding beneath the Sea, but Fischer knew nothing of it. Nor did he lurk somewhere eavesdropping on the conversation with Lingna. For behind him in Parker Park was that fellow, Carlo.
After waking him up, without a rest, Fischer rushed him by carriage back to Saint Nali University.
Prince Schwali’s visiting group had arrived in Saint Nali, and if they waited any longer, Carlo’s infiltration would become much more difficult.
Even though Carlo was still drowsy, Fischer woke him up roughly, dragging him quickly through a window and back to his office.
"Wait here, I’ll fetch you some clothes."
Leaving Carlo in his office, Fischer dashed to his staff quarters to get the waiter uniform he had prepared beforehand. During this time, Carlo needed a proper persona whenever he appeared in public.
Fischer tossed the set of men’s clothes in front of Carlo, provoking a stiff look and a twist of his mouth.
"Do you want a woman’s outfit?"
"Well...it’s not that I can’t..."
Carlo snatched the clothes Fischer handed to him with irritation. Once Fischer turned around, Carlo rustled around the office and changed.
By the time Fischer looked back, Carlo was dressed in the black servant’s attire, although the long brown hair was somewhat eye-catching; however, Carlo didn’t need to be constantly in the spotlight. He just had to protect the visiting scholar group during the conference, out of sight.
Almost ready, Fischer didn’t bother with him anymore, instructing him to stay in his staff quarters without messing around and just to follow his arrangements.
The outside brought the bustling noise of the school. Normally, the campus would be deserted on weekends, as many students took the lecture-free weekend to play in the Saint Nali District. But this week, because of Prince Schwali’s visit, the students were temporarily forbidden to go out.
Having settled Carlo, Fischer had just stepped out of his staff apartment when he saw an anxious Roger wandering in front of the office. Upon seeing Fischer, he sighed with relief,
"Thank heavens! I thought you’d gone home, I was about to call your house."
According to the original plan, Prince Schwali’s visiting scholar group wasn’t supposed to enter Saint Nali University until tomorrow. They were first to receive the welcome of New Party officials, then stay a day in the district.
"Don’t ask; the Forbidden Magic Scholar Group from Schwali didn’t stay in the district. They just got off the airship and are hurrying to the university; they’ve asked for you by name. Principal Ken sent me to find you..."
It seemed this visit wasn’t entirely a diplomatic formality. Clearly, those scholars were quite provoked by his theories and couldn’t wait to trouble him upon arriving in Saint Nali.
"I understand. I’ll go change my clothes..."
"Don’t bother; they’re almost here, and Schwali’s scholars probably don’t care what you’re wearing. Just go."
Fischer was somewhat amused. Since Roger said so, he had no choice but to tidy up the suit he hadn’t changed from last night after tumbling around in Parker Park, and accompanied him to the gates of Saint Nali University.
Upon arrival, Principal Ken was already waiting at the Gate. Seeing Fischer, he nodded at him,
"Relax. They’re just coming to see you first. We’ll discuss the academic matters next Monday."
Although Principal Ken knew Fischer wouldn’t panic, he still eased the pressure for him.
