A Pointing Magic spell quickly appeared in Fisher’s hand; it was similar to the magic proven in his thesis but was not directed by himself.
After waiting for the completion of the magic, he stood up and aimed the magic at the silver mirror.
"Mr. Fisher, what is this?"
A Schwali scholar just wanted to stop Fisher, fearing that whatever magic he used might damage the mirror if done wrong.
But Father Deke from Kado Church instead generously allowed Fisher to continue his magic, so in the end, the Schwali scholar did not intervene.
Fisher’s Pointing Magic in his hands lit up and surged onto the small silver mirror in an instant. Amid the astonished gazes of the scholars nearby, the magic activated instantly and revealed distorted human phantasms of various sizes behind the mirror.
The phantasms seemed melded together, inseparable; one phantom’s arm was another’s leg, and two heads shared one set of features, making the entire soul illusion appear like a gigantic, revolting ball of flesh.
From the illusion emerged figures constantly issuing wails. Others could not hear them, but in Fisher’s ears, those myriad chaotic voices peaked, expressing their endless agony.
Even Fisher appeared unexpectedly surprised; he had simply made an educated guess and didn’t anticipate actually revealing the essence of the thing.
"Mr. Fisher...this..."
The people from Kado Church were astonished at the horrific phantoms behind the mirror and immediately clasped their hands in prayer, seeking the protection of the Mother Goddess.
"This mirror is made from melded human souls, and judging by the resilience of these souls, they must have practiced magic, which is why this mirror can unleash magic from the Middle Ages."
"Soul-made? Are you saying humans knew about the existence of souls long ago? And they even knew how to create relics?"
Fisher raised the Magic Emblem in his hand, which was beginning to fade, indicating that the Magic Ring Head he used was the one from his thesis. He then shook his head in response to the Schwali scholar’s question,
"I’m not sure, maybe Bishop Casheo knows, maybe he doesn’t; this silver mirror could have been given to him by someone else..."
Currently, there’s nothing recorded in the Magic Books about souls, just about Magic Circuits and leveraging the World Resonance. Ultimately, whether or not magic comes from the soul doesn’t impact using magic at all, but for Fisher, this theory could bring more possibilities to magic in the future.
A Church Personnel from Kado sighed and moved next to Fisher, continuing their earlier explanation,
"The Holy Church has no records whether Bishop Casheo is aware that magic originates from souls. We don’t know much about him either."
