Demonic Po*nstar System Chapter 601

The silence stretched after Kaiden’s departure, each of his girls still seated around the table as if moving too soon would break something fragile.

Luna was the first to speak, fingers tapping against her mug as she stared toward the hallway he had taken. "Should we go after him?" she asked, voice measured, "Before he does something irreversible..."

The answer came instantly.

"No," Nyx, Aria, Calypso, and Bastet decreed together, their voices overlapping in perfect sync.

"..." Alice wasn’t quite on the same wavelength, but the little sis decided to stay quiet, sensing that giving Kaiden space might be for the best.

Luna turned, brows lifting as she looked around the table. "Wow," the gamer girl said, glancing between them. "We actually agreed. That never happens. But are you girls sure?"

Aria lowered her voice. "I’ve been thinking... We’re around Kai constantly, clinging to his presence with all our might."

"But-" Luna wasn’t allowed to finish.

"Yes, I know he loves it. That doesn’t change the truth, however," Aria declared.

Calypso nodded in full agreement. "There are moments when a man has to act on what’s burning inside him. As his loyal women, our role includes trusting his judgment and supporting the choice he makes, even when that choice means walking alone for a while."

Bastet’s tail swayed in a slow, confident arc as she inclined her head. "Master is intelligent and decisive. His fury has direction. He understands consequence and purpose. This situation calls for resolve, and he possesses that in abundance. I trust him not to make a stupid decision."

Luna listened to them, gaze dropping to the tabletop as she considered the image burned into her mind. Kaiden’s expression when he stood had carried raw wrath, sharp and violent, the kind that promised action rather than restraint. She understood that look better than most. It spoke of blood and certainty, of a line crossed beyond forgiveness.

She exhaled through her nose and gave a crooked smile. "Choco Kitty, I think you’re either a bad reader of character, or you’re the real blondie of the gang. That was full throttle rage, the kind that leaves bodies behind."

Ignoring the heavy glares she got from both the tanned kitten and the demonic maid, the gamer girl admitted, "Still... clinging to someone when they want to handle something alone only breeds resentment. I agree to let Kai do whatever he so desires regarding this situation."

Her eyes lifted, resolve settling in. "I’m with him through whatever comes next."

The Storm Valkyrie was Kaiden’s ride-or-die partner through and through, not caring what the personal cost might be. She considered herself to be a part of something bigger than an individual.

Nyx relaxed back into her chair with a quiet hum of approval escaping her. "So we’re all in agreement. This is friendly territory... Let Kai do what he sees fit."

"Agreed."

All of the girls decreed together.

Somewhere deeper in the compound, Kaiden walked with purpose toward a reckoning.

And for once, none of them followed.

...

Kaiden moved through the compound with heat coiling tight beneath his skin; every step was extremely heavy as rage condensed, compressing further and further into his heart rather than spilling loose.

Wrathful mana pressed outward from his frame in a dense, oppressive tide, the air around him thickening as if burdened by invisible weight. His eyes swam with slow, red, manic circles, pupils steady while something feral churned behind them. His breathing stayed even, controlled to the point of discomfort, and that calm carried far more menace than shouting ever could.

Memories surfaced unbidden as he walked, dragged up from years ago by sheer force of anger.

Vaelira in high school, sitting two rows over with her chin lifted and that smug curl to her mouth, watching him with the bored cruelty of someone who believed herself untouchable.

The confession that should have stayed private, twisted into a spectacle by the time it reached the wider student body, warped into humiliating rumors that painted him as desperate, unhinged, and pathetic.

The laughter in the hallways, the whispers that followed him for weeks, the way she played the victim afterward, milking attention while feigning innocence. A drama queen wrapped in arrogance, convinced the world existed to applaud her every motion, smiling every time she saw the damage she caused.

His fingers curled tighter with each remembered detail, veins standing out stark against the muscle of his forearms as power flowed and coiled.

However...

All of such memories burned through him in a single breath, then vanished just as quickly.

They were completely and utterly irrelevant to the Kaiden of today, rendered meaningless by what followed.

But one phrase remained, far eclipsing it all.

’She deserved Maximilian.’

Everything else was useless chatter to the Paragon of Sin.

The words repeated in his mind with relentless clarity, each echo striking harder than the last. His jaw tightened, teeth pressing together as the fury sharpened into a single point. Some lines existed for a reason. Some things carried consequences the moment they left someone’s mouth. This crossed every one of them.

He continued down the guild’s halls, presence bearing down on the space around him like a descending storm.

Conversations died the instant he came into view. People flattened themselves against the walls, backs pressing into stone and metal as sweat broke out along their brows. Several stumbled in their haste to clear his path, hearts hammering loud enough that he could hear them over his own footsteps. Breaths came short and panicked as he passed, bodies curling inward on instinct, each of them convinced that a single misstep would draw his attention and end them where they stood.

Even those who once dismissed him as a harmless celebrity, a lucky figurehead carried by others, felt their lungs seize as he moved by.

His aura crushed doubt and bravado alike, leaving only raw survival instinct in its wake. The halls seemed to narrow around him, shadows stretching long as if recoiling from his advance, every step a promise of violence held firmly in check.

The pressure followed him into the emergency healing wing with his wrathful mana bleeding into the white-lit corridors and weighing on every surface. The usual sterility of the place felt strained, healers and support staff moving with practiced urgency that faltered the moment Kaiden crossed the threshold. His presence bent the rhythm of the room, steps slowing, hands trembling just enough to give away the fear they tried to suppress.

Several doctors were at work, voices clipped and efficient as spells layered over one another, and instruments hummed with stabilizing enchantments. Runes glowed along the walls, pulsing in steady patterns meant to keep patients alive through trauma that would have ended their lives. Even so, more than one practitioner glanced up as he passed with color draining from their faces as instinct screamed at them to keep their heads down and their bodies small.

A nurse stepped into his path by accident, clipboard held tight against her chest. The moment her eyes met his, her breath hitched, and her knees nearly gave out beneath her. She swallowed hard, shoulders drawing inward as sweat beaded at her temples. Kaiden did not slow, did not speak, his gaze cutting through her with calm, focused intensity.

She did not ask who he was there for. She did not ask anything at all.

Her hand lifted in a shaky motion, finger pointing down the corridor toward an alcove reinforced with thicker wards and heavier glyphwork than the rest.

That was where Vaelira rested.
