Demonic Skeleton God Chapter 83

"Fire Lance," mumbled Flain.

A large fiery spear formed in his hand. Flain threw it at the monster. The monster caught the spear with its vines, but that was exactly what Flain had been waiting for.

The spear suddenly exploded, the monster’s body writhed in flames and was thrown to the side.

"You’re lucky that was only a Stage 2 spell," mumbled Flain.

The dust vanished and the monster stood there angrily. Its vines were scorched and its whole body cracked, but it began regenerating quickly. The best part was that this was only Stage 2; Flain guessed this monster didn’t particularly like fire.

"Hahahahaha, show me what you’ve got," shouted Flain excitedly.

The monster let out a loud hiss, which Flain somewhat understood — it was filled with hatred towards him. It seemed this monster had a certain level of intelligence, maybe it was suitable.

Flain and the monster charged at each other. Huge vines started erupting from the ground, striking at him.

Flain and the monster exchanged blows, with Flain unleashing his greatest aggression again. He dodged or blocked most attacks, but some still broke through. The vines were especially annoying, because Flain had to dodge not only the monster’s fists but also them.

Flain and the monster retreated backward, Flain had only 50 HP left. The monster didn’t look much better. Its whole body was covered in slash wounds and burns from Flain’s tail, the vines along its body were soaked in its blood and many had been chopped apart.

Now it was time for the main course. "Swift Cascade."

Flain’s swords and even the stinger on the end of his tail began to shine intensely, a thin layer of mist formed around them, enlarging them. Flain dashed toward the monster.

His movements turned into imperceptible mist. Every step was fluid, every slash deadly. The swords flickered, leaving behind a chain of wounds on the monster’s skin, and they kept accumulating.

The monster tried to react, but it was already too weakened, its movements tired and slow. Soon the monster fell to the ground, still breathing.

But instead of finishing it off, Flain deactivated Swift Cascade. He approached the monster and sat on its back. He planned to make it his soul slave.

The monster displayed some level of intelligence — not much, but enough for Flain to understand what it tried to say. Flain also really liked its abilities; they were perfect for immobilizing enemies, and it wasn’t lacking in strength either.

Flain leaned toward the monster’s head. "Submit to me," he whispered.

The monster hissed again, not understanding what he wanted from it.

"Lord Of Souls," murmured Flain.

[The organism whose soul you want to enslave does not genuinely wish to be enslaved.]

"Looks like torture is necessary," murmured Flain.

Flain began torturing it. He broke its bones, tore off the ivy, ripped off its skin. The monster was of course regenerating, but Flain was faster in torture than the monster was in healing.

The monster at first hissed with hatred, but gradually it began to yield and in the end, it begged Flain to finally kill it.

[Congratulations, you have successfully initiated the enslavement process...]

"Hehe, finally," said Flain.

A large glowing blue slave collar appeared around the monster’s neck. Cracks began appearing all over its body, and it started to glow grayish green. Eventually, its eyes turned gray.

The monster stood up and looked around for a moment, then looked at Flain and bowed. "My king, please name me," said the monster, its voice hollow and raspy.

’Interesting, so soul enslavement also increases intelligence, because before it was barely and primitively capable of speaking, and now it speaks on a human level,’ thought Flain.

Flain thought for a moment. "Ivy, you will be Ivy," said Flain. It wasn’t exactly original.

"Ivy? My king, couldn’t you come up with something better?" asked Ivy.

Flain turned to him. "Who do you think I am?" he said, and a dangerous aura radiated from him.

"Alright, alright. I accept the name Ivy," said Ivy.

A silhouette of Aran appeared next to Flain. "Hey Aran, this is Ivy, he’s just like you. Explain to him how things work," said Flain.

"Understood, my king," said Aran and walked over to Ivy.

In the meantime, Itai had already resurrected the two monsters Ivy had killed and came over to Flain. "You turned him into one of yours? That’s a shame, I liked him."

"You have Harur, he’s one sub-stage lower than Ivy, but still good enough," Flain replied curtly.

Flain’s head turned to Aran and Ivy—it looked like something was going on there. Ivy’s ivy was wrapped all around Aran’s body, while Aran was casting Ice Spikes at Ivy.

"Hey, what’s going on here?" said Flain, separating them.

"My king, I don’t think this creature is suitable to stand by your side," said Aran.

"Did you explain to him what situation he’s in?" asked Flain.

"Yes, my king. Still, I don’t like him at all. When I told him he was immortal, he described it by saying he doesn’t feel like thinking about it," said Aran.

"Hmh, I am quite suitable, weak little lizard," said Ivy.

"What did you just say?!" shouted Aran.

"I’m not interested in your arguments," Flain cut them off.

Their bodies dissolved into dust which flew into Flain’s soul. Flain’s purple eyes widened—now that he had two slaves inside his soul and one of them was two sub-stages stronger, it was putting immense pressure on his soul. Discover more novels at novel[f]ire.net

"I’ll have to get used to it," thought Flain.

’This body is controlled by the wrong soul,’ said a familiar voice in Flain’s head.

"Great, you’re just what I was missing," mumbled Flain.

Flain no longer even tried to decipher what the voice was saying. This body is controlled by the wrong soul? Flain was sure this body was his. Maybe a piece of the previous owner’s soul remained, but Flain doubted it had managed to take over his body.

Flain spread his wings—it was time to buy new armor...
