Beiming Shasha was still crying when a middle-aged woman dressed in regal garb entered. Upon seeing her, Beiming Shasha’s crying escalated, screaming, “Mommy, save me! I’ve been disfigured! It hurts so much.”
Rong Pinyan looked at her daughter’s scalded face, a harsh glint flashing in her eyes. She quickly directed, “Get a doctor, Shasha stop crying and rinse with cold water first.”

Rong Pinyan turned to Gu Qingxin and asked coldly, “Who invited you? Your name isn’t on the guest list for today.”
Gu Qingxin found Rong Pinyan somewhat admirable; despite being furious, she was keen to establish Gu’s identity before deciding how to deal with her.
“The old man invited me.” At this point, Gu Qingxin had to mention her powerful backer or risk Rong Pinyan’s wrath.
Sure enough, on hearing that Gu Qingxin was invited by Beiming Lingyun, Rong Pinyan was momentarily taken aback. If she was a guest invited by her father, Rong could not act impulsively.

“I was doing her a kind favor by giving her soup, but she didn’t appreciate it and it all ended up on me.” Beiming Shasha’s cries brought Beiming Lingyun’s gaze back.
“It’s hardly mealtime; you should not have meddled with the guests with your soup. It’s nonsense!” Beiming Lingyun knew it was his granddaughter who had started this mess.
“Grandpa…how can you take her side over your own granddaughter’s!” Beiming Shasha was stamping her foot in frustration.
“How audacious! Look at yourself! Go to your room and reflect on your actions. Apologize to your grandfather when you understand your mistake – otherwise, don’t come out!” Rong Pinyan angrily poked her daughter’s forehead.
“Mommy…” Beiming Shasha was resentful. Even her mother was scolding her now.
“Go!” Rong Pinyan pushed her daughter out.
Only then did Beiming Lingyun turn to Gu Qingxin and ask, “Qingxin, are you okay? My truculent granddaughter didn’t hurt you, did she?”
Gu Qingxin shook her head, “I’m fine.”
“That’s good. If my useless granddaughter dares to bother you again, feel free to discipline her on my behalf.”
“Qingxin, I want to askyou something. Are your parents still alive?” Beiming Lingyun felt unsettled unless he asked.
“They’re still alive.” Gu Qingxin didn’t understand why the old man would suddenly ask about this.
“Oh, good. They’re still alive. I’ll have Lieyan accompany you today. We have many guests, so if there’s any neglect, please don’t take it to heart.”
