“Miss Gu, oh, it’s bad. Young Master has fainted, you gotta come take a look.” Aunt Zhou said anxiously from the other side of the room.
When Gu Qingxin came to Beiming Han’s bedroom, he was collapsed on the bed, eyes tightly closed. It was only when she got to his side that she noticed a strange flush spread across his face. She extended a hand to touch his forehead, it was scorchingly hot.

Gu Qingxin, ignoring her own discomfort, fetched a container of tepid water from the bathroom and started to wipe his face and neck clean.
When Aunt Zhou returned, she had brought cooling pads and a thermometer.
“Don’t leave me…” Beiming Han started to mumble unconsciously, his eyelashes damp and trembling.
Gu Qingxin halted at his mumblings, who was he talking about?
Seeing his parched lips, she fetched some lukewarm water, and with a soaked cotton ball carefully wiped his mouth.
She took the thermometer out and her gaze fell on the blinking red digits, he was running a fever of 40 degrees Celsius.
“Do we have antipyretics?” Gu Qingxin hurriedly looked at Aunt Zhou; this fever was too high, any more than this would certainly damage his brains.
“Yes!” Aunt Zhou proffered a bottle of fever medication.
“Aunt Zhou, please call Bai Jingqing and tell him about Beiming Han’s condition. We need him here urgently.”
“Alright, I’m on it!” Aunt Zhou left at once.
Now, only Gu Qingxin and Beiming Han remained in the room. She read the dosing instructions on the antipyretic—it recommended 10ml.
She measured out the medication into a separate container, and then painstakingly hoisted Beiming Han’s head to guide the medicine to his mouth, saying, “Take the medicine.”
Beiming Han kept his mouth tightly clasped, refusing to open it despite her many attempts to spoon-feed it to him.

Once he had swallowed the medication, she picked up the glass of water at her side, took a sip, and then fed that to him as well.

“Let… go…” She pushed him hard yet again, but to no avail, this man was absurdly strong even when he was ill!
Beiming Han only released her after he’d had his fill of their kiss. Gu Qingxin sat on the bed, hands covering her lips, her cheeks flaming even brighter than the feverish man.
She opened her mouth to scold him, but Beiming Han had already turned away, avoiding her gaze.
