He strode over to pull Beiming Yi off Gu Qingxin, hoisting Xiao Yi onto his own shoulders and pressing on forwards.
Gu Qingxin’s arms were suddenly empty, and she couldn’t help but keep her eyes on the two figures, one big and one small. She couldn’t help but wonder, what if Beiming Han had a baby? How would he get along with the little one?
What on earth was she imagining? Xiao Yi might be his child!
Ye Yingsu looked at Gu Qingxin for a few moments, then turned and followed Beiming Han and Xiao Yi, moving on ahead.
“Such bad luck, we shouldn’t have come here to eat! How did we run into them!” Ming Shang couldn’t help but grouse as he approached.
“What’s your relationship with the old man?” Gu Qingxin asked.
“The old man is my paternal grandfather!” Ming Shang answered, still looking quite annoyed.
Oh, the old man was his paternal grandfather, then that made him and Beiming Han cousins.
Why did the two act as if they had never met each other?
“I don’t know him very well. He wasn’t at the Beiming family home when we were young. He was only brought back when he was in his teens!” Ming Shang noticed her confusion and supplied an explanation.
“Where did he disappear to before his teens?” Gu Qingxin asked, lost in confusion.
Ming Shang realized he had said something he shouldn’t have, hastily segued to another topic, “Let’s go in, otherwise the old man will blame me again.”
When Gu Qingxin looked at Beiming Han, Xiao Yi, and Ye Yingsu, she couldn’t help but think that they looked like a family.
She suddenly felt a grimace of displeasure in her heart…
The private dining room wasn’t very large – just big enough for a six-person table. Probably when they made the reservation, they thought there would only be four of them and booked a small one.
The manager asked if they wanted a bigger room. Beiming Lingyun waved his hand, “No need, close quarters make for better conversation.”
Beiming Lingyun took his seat at the head of the table, and Xiao Yi kept waiting for Gu Qingxin, hoping to sit with her.
Ming Shang sat next to Beiming Lingyun, and as Gu Qingxin took a seat next to him, Xiao Yi instantly tried to sit next to her. But he was immediately lifted by Beiming Han and placed next to Ye Yingsu.
Then, quite naturally, Beiming Han sat himself on Gu Qingxin’s other side.
The manager came over to take their orders. Gu Qingxin only felt her hand grabbed by a larger one. She wanted to pull away, afraid of getting discovered, but Beiming Han, gripping it even tighter.
Gu Qingxin couldn’t help but glare at him, but he behaved as though nothing had happened, his other hand flipping through the menu.
Beiming Han glanced at the girl next to him and ordered a plate of shrimp. Gu Qingxin loved shrimp, but because of her injured hand, she had been forced to abstain recently. He couldn’t help but notice, this little glutton was craving it.
Indeed, the moment Gu Qingxin heard him order the shrimp, her expression immediately changed.
Shrimp is good, shrimp is the best, she loved it the most!
Despite Beiming Han sitting in between them, Xiao Yi kept on staring at Gu Qingxin, smiling at her, looking cute and charming.
Gu Qingxin smiled back at him and ‘forcefully’ withdrew her hand.
Feeling his hand suddenly empty, Beiming Han shot her an unhappy look.
Gu Qingxin ignored him, picked up a serviette from in front of her, nimbly folding it into a little bunny, and handed it over to Xiao Yi.
Xiao Yi’s smile shone even brighter, he carefully held onto the bunny and blew Gu Qingxin a kiss.
Beiming Han instantly shot a glare at the little one beside him. The audacity of him! He had just kissed the girl outside, and now, he was flirting with her over the table!
