“Yes.” Beiming Han responded simply.
Without much explanation, the man sat beside the bed and handed her the water. Gu Qingxin received it and its comforting warmth seemed to gradually warm her heart as well.
Just as Gu Qingxin was about to drink, Beiming Han quickly cautioned her, “Careful, it’s hot.”
“Oh.” Gu Qingxin slowly brought it to her lips, taking a small sip. The temperature wasn’t too hot, just right for drinking.
After drinking a cup of brown sugar water, Gu Qingxin felt much better immediately. Her palms were sweaty and the bloating pain in her lower abdomen didn’t seem as bad anymore.
After Beiming Han put the cup down, he suggested she lie down first. He went to the bathroom for a shower and returned soon after. Climbing into bed, he held her in his arms…
