Ming Shang wanted to invite Gu Qingxin to dinner. To prevent Beiming Han from getting upset about it, Gu Qingxin dragged Bai Qianqian along, much to Ming Shang’s annoyance.
Nevertheless, he didn’t make a fuss, but as he was leaving, he couldn’t help but stop Gu Qingxin. Frustration apparent in his voice, he blurted, “Beiming Han has already announced his engagement, and you’re still so blindly devoted to him?!”
“That’s my business, I don’t have to explain it to anyone,” Gu Qingxin retorted, her patience running thin when others brought up the matter.
In the past, she’d deceived herself with the excuse of the contract, claiming that she couldn’t leave because she was tied to him by an agreement…
But since the incident with Ye Yingsu, she had stopped kidding herself. The truth was, she didn’t want to leave him!
Gu Qingxin headed to the Sheng Ming Corporation in the chauffeured car. As soon as Beiming Han saw her enter, he immediately detected her low spirits.
Gu Qingxin dropped her bag on the sofa and sat down. Beiming Han stood up from his desk and came over towards her. He lifted her onto his lap and asked, “What’s wrong? You seem upset.”
Gu Qingxin remained silent. She was fully aware of the immense gap between them. If it hadn’t been for their accidental encounter, they’d be like two parallel lines – one up high, the other down below, never intersecting.
“Come with me,” Beiming Han stood, pulling her up from his lap and leading her towards his rest room.
“I don’t want to go,” Gu Qingxin, unsure if his invitation was a precursor to another intimate encounter, had been finding his recent affection a bit overwhelming.
Ignoring her objection, Beiming Han hoisted her onto his shoulder and swiftly moved towards his rest room.
“Hey, put me down! I’m tired today, really don’t want to do it again,” Gu Qingxin protested, kicking her legs.
Nonetheless, Beiming Han didn’t relent. He only set her down within his rest room. As they entered, a cool, enticing fragrance filled the air…
It was the scent of wild roses!
The door closed, shrouding the room in darkness. As Gu Qingxin was about to turn around, Beiming Han steadied her shoulder, urging her to look forward…
Suddenly, multitudes of tiny lights twinkled on the ceiling of the rest room, shimmering like a blanket of stars…
Slowly, the lights in the room brightened, revealing walls adorned with beautiful wild roses, a layer of thick petals littering the floor…
On the large bed where they had loved each other countless times, two heart patterns were fashioned from red rose petals…
And at the center of those hearts…
Was a box containing – starry lollipops!
Gu Qingxin spun around excitedly, locking her gaze with the man behind her. Looking at her surprise, a hint of warmth flashed in Beiming Han’s eyes…

A flower crown made of colourful roses rested on the bedside table. Gu Qingxin put down the lollipops and placed the crown on her head, then turned to him, asking, “Do I look good?”
Beiming Han stepped in front of her, circling his arm around her waist. After taking a good, hard look at her, he finally nodded, “Gorgeous.”
If he had given her an immediate reply, Gu Qingxin would have assumed he was just trying to flatter her. But he had earnestly checked her out before giving his reply.
And that made her heart soar with happiness.
