When An Xiaonuan returned, she saw Huangfu Ye there, wearing a silk bathrobe and having a meal. She raced back in a disheveled state and knocked on the door.
What on earth was this place? She couldn’t find the way out at all.
“Huangfu Ye, let me in, it’s so cold outside.” An Xiaonuan was chilled to the bone and held herself tightly, crying aloud.
“Aren’t you quite capable? Weren’t you supposed to escape? So why’d you come back? Keep running!” Huangfu Ye forked a shrimp into his mouth, hmm, the taste was really good.
An Xiaonuan wanted to curse him outright, but she was in no position to protest, “I’m so cold, I might freeze to death! Let me in!”
Huangfu Ye sneered inwardly. Did she view this place as somewhere she could come and go as she pleased?
He deliberately forked an exquisite shrimp dumpling, got up and came to the window, saying, “Hmm, it smells so good, delicious…do you want some?”
An Xiaonuan was famished; she hadn’t eaten anything since Christmas Eve when she was captured by him. It had been two days, and she had been tormented endlessly by him. Now she was skin and bones from hunger. It seemed as if she could even smell the scent of that shrimp dumpling through the glass…

Huangfu Ye swirled the dumpling in front of her before popping it into his mouth, smacking his lips as he ate, “So hot, so delicious.”
An Xiaonuan could only cry bitterly. She was so cold, tears streaming down her face. She pounded on the glass, her cheeks and nose red from the cold, “Huangfu Ye, wasn’t your punishment enough, even if I had offended you previously? Have some mercy; I’m freezing! Let me in, I’ll freeze to death!”
“Oh, did I send you away? Did I throw you out? Ever heard of a saying, ‘you reap what you sow’?”
Huangfu Ye scoffed, a sense of irritation rose within him as he looked at the pitiful girl crying outside.
This woman really was detestable. Clearly, she was suffering consequences of her actions, but she even dared to hurled blame at him.
An Xiaonuan knew he wouldn’t show her any mercy. He had tormented her for two nights, was she destined to die this time around?
She was so cold that she almost lost consciousness, so be it. She was an orphan, death would be a relief for her.
An Xiaonuan suddenly squatted down next to a wall that shielded her from the wind slightly. She moved closer to the wall and curled up there with no energy left to even move.
Huangfu Ye returned to his meal, occasionally glancing out at the girl outside.
An Xiaonuan curled up over there and froze until she passed out.
Huangfu Ye furrowed his brows. That maid was always up to something, was she pretending again?
A few minutes passed while An Xiaonuan still hadn’t moved. Huangfu Ye hastily got up and rushed outside.
The cold wind hit him and he cursed under his breath. Damn, it’s freezing, he was barely clothed himself in the thin bathrobe.
Only then did he realize, An Xiaonuan wasn’t pretending. Damn it, wearing so little, one could freeze to death in a moment, not to mention she had been out there for more than half an hour.
