Qu Annai, fuming and tearful, watched as more and more people crowded into the room. She shouted at them, “What are you looking at? Get out!”
She felt utterly humiliated under the scornful, contemptuous gazes of her classmates. Ignoring her state of undress, she flung off her covers, rushed to the door, and slammed it shut against the curious onlookers still pouring in.
Gu Qingxin and Bai Qianqian stood outside the dormitory building, both at a loss for words about what had just transpired. They simply didn’t know what to say.
“God, what do we do? It’s so disgusting! Should we go to the hospital and wash our eyes?”
Bai Qianqian covered her eyes with her hand, the ghastly spectacle of intertwined bodies flashing persistently in her mind.
“Now, Qu Annai is probably going to hate us even more.”

“She hates us? Is she insane? HER behaviour was indecent. What does that have to do with us?” Bai Qianqian dropped her hand and fumed.
“She won’t see it that way. People like her never think they’re the ones at fault; they always blame others.”
“What if she plots against us again? We’re no match for her underhanded tactics.”
“From now on, we need to avoid the dormitory and stay as far away from her as possible.”
“I’d rather die than step foot in that room again. It makes me sick.”
“Where should we go now?”
“Let’s go grab some food in the cafeteria, then head to the auditorium.” Gu Qingxin took her hand and started to the cafeteria.
“You can still eat? Not me, I feel like throwing up.” Bai Qianqian couldn’t hold back any longer and heaved at the side of the road.
“Are you okay?” Gu Qingxin quickly followed, patting her back gently.
“So disgusting. Just thinking about it makes me want to vomit.” Bai Qianqian said miserably.
The two went to the cafeteria. Gu Qingxin managed to eat, but Bai Qianqian couldn’t stomach anything. She couldn’t stand the smell of the food, so she excused herself to head to the auditorium while Gu Qingxin finished eating.
On her return, Gu Qingxin stopped at the campus shop and bought some sour plum candy for Bai Qianqian.
The auditorium was sparsely filled. Bai Qianqian found a seat and picked up an incoming call.
“Where are you?” Bai Jingqing asked.
“At the school auditorium.”
“Have you taken your medicine today?”
“Not yet. I felt nauseous, will take it tonight.” Hearing the word ‘nauseous’ set off an uncontrollable urge in Bai Qianqian to vomit, but there was hardly anything in her stomach left to come out.
Bai Jingqing furrowed his brows, “You’re nauseated now?”
“Yes, I saw something gross and it made me sick.” Bai Qianqian was too preoccupied with remembering Qu Annai’s misconduct to grasp the implication of Bai Jingqing’s words.
“It’s… Ah, never mind, it makes me want to puke again.” Bai Qianqian was too embarrassed to share the distasteful scene.
After all, it wasn’t something to be proud of.
“It’s a psychological reaction. Don’t worry about it. Also, don’t eat anything indiscriminately. I will get something for you.” Bai Jingqing offered.
“No need.” Bai Qianqian immediately protested.
“I’ll be at school tonight. You wait for me there. If you can’t handle it, have something sour.” Bai Jingqing advised.
