Beilo was not at all surprised by Spade’s reaction, and she calmly said, "Lords Spade and Augustus, please be patient and hear me out. Our two countries’ fleets have braved the dangers of sailing to find resources for our own nations. We have been out here for no short amount of time, right? I presume you too have searched many places, and you should know well what the returns have been like—isn’t it often a minimal gain even with a bit of good fortune, just barely making a bit more?"
After listening, both Spade and Augustus fell into silence.
Beilo continued, "Let me be frank—the star domains near Star Ring City have been scoured over and over by others. It’s basically impossible to eat meat without paying some price; at most, you can only manage to sip some soup. "We understand what you’re saying, but the problem is the presence of Level 5 creatures, going beyond our capacity," Augustus said, his face twitching slightly, not because he didn’t desire the resources, but because he feared losing his teeth before even tasting the meat.
