Devilish secretary Chapter 92

Lilith laughed softly, the sound light and teasing as she brushed her damp hair from her face. But Sebastian’s eyes drifted lower—

The rain had done her no favors.

Her clothes clung to her figure, the fabric outlining every dangerous curve. It left little to the imagination, and Sebastian felt his throat tighten.

His gaze lingered a little too long, and Lilith caught it, raising a brow with a playful smirk.

Before she could say anything, Sebastian moved.

With one swift motion, he bent down and scooped her effortlessly into his arms.

"human doll!" Lilith gasped, her arms instinctively wrapping around his neck as the sudden lift caught her off guard.

Her heart skipped a beat as she clung to him, glaring playfully. "What do you think you’re doing?"

Sebastian looked down at her, his hold firm but gentle, water droplets trickling down his jawline.

"Taking you somewhere dry," he replied smoothly, though the mischievous glint in his eyes said otherwise.

Lilith narrowed her eyes. "I can walk, you know."

"I know," Sebastian replied, pulling her closer as he started walking. "But where’s the fun in that?"

Lilith’s lips twitched, but she didn’t fight him.

If this is how he treats his girlfriend... maybe being carried in the rain wasn’t so bad after all.

Sebastian’s grip on Lilith tightened slightly as she rested comfortably in his arms, her fingers lightly brushing against the nape of his neck. The warmth of her body against his sent an unfamiliar, pleasant ache through him.

"I forgot my purse at the café because of you," Lilith muttered, though there was no real irritation in her voice. She nuzzled closer, her head resting against his shoulder.

Sebastian’s lips curved into a smirk as he stepped into the elevator, pressing the button to ground floor.

"Who told you to go on a date with someone else?" he said, his tone dipping possessively. His gaze flicked down to meet hers. "Now that you’re my girlfriend, you can’t talk to that man again. Got it?"

Before she could respond, Sebastian leaned down, stealing a soft kiss from her lips.

Lilith’s eyes widened slightly at the sudden gesture, but she didn’t pull away.

As he straightened, Lilith sighed dramatically, running her fingers along the collar of his shirt.

"I wasn’t on a date with him," she clarified, her eyes lingering on his jawline, drawn to the sharp angles.

"Do you remember Nina? She’s the one who called me. She had something important to discuss—and that man was her boyfriend."

Sebastian raised a brow but said nothing as she continued.

"Do you know he didn’t even let go of her hand the entire time we were talking?" Lilith muttered, narrowing her eyes slightly.

Sebastian’s jaw twitched faintly at her words, his hold on her shifting slightly as if to assert his own dominance.

"Oh." Sebastian blinked, clearly processing the revelation.

But deep inside, his thoughts spiraled.

Her friend’s boyfriend held her hand the entire time?

Sebastian’s gaze darkened.

I can do better than that.

As the elevator began its smooth ascent, Sebastian adjusted his hold on Lilith, his grip secure yet tender.

His mind was made up.

If that man was the bar Lilith measured by—Sebastian would raise it.

He wasn’t just going to be her boyfriend.

He was going to be the best one she’d ever have.

As they stepped out of the building, the soft drizzle had turned into steady rain. People moved along the sidewalk, huddled under umbrellas, but Sebastian paid them no mind. His sole focus was Lilith, still resting comfortably in his arms.

He carried her across the pavement toward his car, which was parked in the lot nearby.

However—

Sebastian’s footsteps slowed, his eyes narrowing as he spotted another luxurious car parked directly next to his.

Leaning casually against it was none other than Knox Grayson.

Knox’s sharp gaze flicked toward them, a brow raising slightly at the sight of Lilith still nestled in Sebastian’s arms. A deep, amused smile tugged at his lips, and he pushed off his car, holding up Lilith’s purse.

Sebastian’s face instantly soured.

Lilith, noticing Sebastian’s mood shift, whispered softly, "Put me down."

But Sebastian didn’t move.

His grip on her tightened slightly, as if Knox’s presence alone was enough to awaken something territorial inside him.

Knox’s smirk deepened.

Did I just do a good deed without realizing it? Knox thought, his gaze flickering to Lilith’s content expression.

Looks like I accidentally brought a couple together.

"Lose something?" Knox said, lifting the purse slightly for emphasis.

Sebastian didn’t answer.

Instead, with one arm still securely around Lilith, he shifted her weight slightly—effortlessly balancing her against his chest. With his free hand, he reached into his pocket, pulling out his car keys with a swift motion.

Lilith’s breath hitched slightly as his hold adjusted, her legs hooked around his waist while his arm supported her lower back.

How is he holding me like this so easily... she thought, her face heating ever so slightly.

For the first time, the devil was tasting the sweetness of love!

Sebastian unlocked the car with a single click, the lights flashing briefly.

Without so much as glancing at Knox, he gently set Lilith down in the passenger seat, brushing her damp hair from her forehead before leaning in to press a soft kiss against it.

"Stay here," Sebastian murmured before pulling back and closing the door with a quiet click.

Only then did he stride toward Knox, his long steps measured but assertive.

Knox, ever the picture of ease, extended his hand casually.

"Knox Grayson," he introduced himself smoothly.

Sebastian’s expression didn’t shift. His dark gaze lingered on Knox’s outstretched hand for a brief second before he clasped it firmly.

"Sebastian Carter," he replied coolly, his grip tight, lingering just long enough to make a point.

Their eyes met—one calm and amused, the other sharp and Cold.

As Sebastian took Lilith’s purse from Knox’s hand, the silent tension between the two men crackled like the rain around them.
