Xiao Shuang took a few steps back as she discovered the metal decoration starting to vibrate; her instinct told her something was wrong, she quickly hid behind a column at the entrance to an arcade and peeked out to watch the changes in the metal decoration.
The metal decoration slowly morphed into a golden, humanoid mechanical figure.
Xiao Shuang covered her mouth and tiptoed quietly away from the column, from what should be the mechanical figure’s blind spot, retreating to another column further back.
The Mechanical Colossus seemed not to rely on vision to track its target.
Although it technically shouldn’t have been able to see Xiao Shuang hiding behind the column, it still swung its massive hammer and ran towards where she was.
Sensing the vibrations on the ground, Xiao Shuang peeked out and saw it charging at her, cursing all the while as she stopped trying to hide and sprinted forward.
Xiao Shuang ran as fast as she could, but without a Beast Tamer contract with a Spirit Beast to borrow strength from for a temporary boost, her rapid running could only keep the distance from the Mechanical Colossus that was closely pursuing her.
After running for a long time, Xiao Shuang despairingly noticed more and more Mechanical Colossi following her, her legs growing heavier and heavier, and in her heart, she prayed for a miracle, albeit in vain.
Xiao Shuang cried out in despair.
She could feel the Mechanical Colossi getting closer and closer behind her, but her legs were getting heavier, like they were filled with lead, and her speed was slowing.

Realizing the hammer hadn’t struck her yet and hearing strange collision sounds around her, Xiao Shuang opened her eyes to see a huge White Wolf fiercely clawing at the Mechanical Colossus.
With a swipe of its large paw, it shattered the mechanical arm of the Colossus.
While Xiao Shuang watched the White Wolf in awe, another Colossus swung its hammer at her.
With a long howl, the White Wolf leaped up and savagely bit the mechanical arm holding the hammer of the Mechanical Colossus, shattering it.
The hammer fell to the ground, causing the earth to shake.
The White Wolf, seemingly dissatisfied with the mechanical parts in its mouth, forcefully exhaled several times and swept an unsatisfied gaze over Xiao Shuang.
Seeing the White Wolf turn back to engage with the Colossi, Xiao Shuang quickly turned and fled from the battlefield.
Watching the giant White Wolf move effortlessly among the Mechanical Colossi, effortlessly tearing apart their parts with its claws, Xiao Shuang couldn’t help but exclaim.
After a while, the giant White Wolf had reduced all the Mechanical Colossi to pieces.

The White Wolf walked up to Xiao Shuang and glanced at her, somewhat timidly.
Xiao Shuang held her ground and met the White Wolf’s eyes; the White Wolf snorted and exhaled a stream of hot air, then lay down and tilted its head back to Xiao Shuang in a gesture, to which she hesitantly reached out and softly touched the White Wolf’s warm head and asked,
“Do you mean for me to ride on your back?”
The White Wolf let out another hot breath impatiently as it looked at Xiao Shuang, who carefully walked beside the wolf and, after a moment of hesitation, climbed onto its back.
As soon as Xiao Shuang was on, the White Wolf stood up and leaped, and just when Xiao Shuang felt she might be thrown off, she found her hands grasping something invisible, and beneath her was not the somewhat hard back of the White Wolf but something soft like a cushion.
Xiao Shuang grasped the invisible support with one hand and gently patted the White Wolf’s back with the other, saying,
“Is this what it feels like to ride a Spirit Beast?”
The White Wolf snorted a dissatisfied stream of white air and started to run forward, and as the scenery flashed by, Xiao Shuang strangely felt a sense of security.
As they ran, they encountered another Mechanical Colossus blocking the way.
The White Wolf jumped high, its claws fiercely aiming for the mechanical arm of the Colossus wielding the hammer.
After destroying the arm, it turned and swept its tail ferociously across the Colossus, sending fragments flying.
Just as the shards were about to hit Xiao Shuang, a white shield appeared and protected her, stopping the fragments in their tracks.
Xiao Shuang patted the White Wolf’s back gently with her hand.
The Wolf disdainfully exhaled another breath of white air and clawed fiercely into another mechanical arm of the Colossus.
It wasn’t long before the White Wolf had torn that Colossus into pieces, and without resting, continued to carry Xiao Shuang forward.
Feng Yuan tossed his Sickle aside and sat down against a column on the edge of the corridor, taking out a piece of Spirit Beast Food from his backpack and offering it to Dreaming Dragon Baby.
Pleased, Dreaming Dragon Baby chirped, and seeing this, Feng Yuan gave the Spirit Beast Food to the Baby and took out a small piece of compressed ration from his backpack.
As he ate, he checked his phone and saw it was nearly six in the afternoon.

Qi Chen said while picking up a compressed dry ration and let out a sigh when he saw it was produced just a few days ago, then put it in his pocket and continued to follow the Light Bird with Ah Mu.
