"I’m fine, I’ll take them to the guest room first."
Dugu Wu knew that Dongfang Yu would not let them leave easily tonight.
The look between Dongfang Yu and Nalan Yan’er was somewhat off, and Dugu Wu had a feeling that tonight’s banquet was not going to be simple.
Feng Bailing took another look at Feng Xiaoli, her little face was red, but her temperature wasn’t abnormal, which made her a bit worried.
Could the child have said something during the day that made her feel unwell?
Feng Bailing remembered the bowl that Shangyin had given them, wondering if Xiaoli had brought it with her?
Nalan Yan’er immediately sent someone to take Feng Bailing and the others to the guest room to settle Feng Xiaoli.
"Xiaojin, go play with the Imperial Grandson first, your mother and I will come later."
Dugu Wu dismissed his son and took Feng Bailing mother and daughter to the guest room.
"What’s wrong with Xiaoli?"
Dugu Wu had been brought directly from the Ministry of Revenue, and when he saw his daughter, she wasn’t as clingy to him as usual, which made him feel that something was off.
"She has a strange illness that acts up unpredictably."
Feng Bailing evaded the question.
A bowl appeared in front of Feng Bailing.
"Did you bring this?"
Feng Bailing was surprised.
"Xiaoli is always losing things, I just had Feng Zao bring it over from the residence."
Dugu Wu watched as Feng Bailing placed the bowl next to Xiaoli.
Xiaoli’s personality was very different from Xiaojin’s, which made Dugu Wu have to give it more thought.
Feng Bailing couldn’t help but feel embarrassed; these were the things she, as a mother, should worry about.
But then again, she thought that although Dugu Wu was a bit cold and petty, he could sometimes be surprisingly considerate.
A slight warmth grew in Feng Bailing’s heart.
Xiaoli’s complexion looked a bit better, but she still seemed unwell.
She didn’t show the strange symptoms she had last time; it was unclear what was causing her discomfort.
Dugu Wu’s next words poured cold water over Feng Bailing.
"Dongfang Yu has woken up, and there are some things I should have told you earlier. His coma has something to do with me."
Dugu Wu pondered for a moment before speaking up.
Feng Bailing’s eyes widened in shock.
"You wouldn’t really harm Dongfang Yu because of Nalan Yan’er, would you? If that’s true, our entire family is doomed."
"What nonsense are you talking about? I haven’t harmed him. Although we have had unpleasant dealings over Nalan Yan’er, everything was out in the open. Before he fell from his horse and fell into a coma, it seemed that he knew about my past with Nalan Yan’er and wanted to confront me. However, I didn’t get to see him before he fell and became comatose. But from his expression today, he seems to still have doubts about that incident."
Dugu Wu said with a headache.
A thunder rumbled outside.
Feng Bailing and Dugu Wu both looked outside simultaneously.
"Prince Wu, the Crown Prince invites you and Princess Consort Wu to the Flower Hall for a drink. The servants here can take care of everything."
Feng Bailing’s hand was tightly gripped by Feng Xiaoli, and she could only soothe her daughter briefly before telling Dugu Wu to go ahead on his own.
The words Dugu Wu wanted to say had to be swallowed back.
He wanted to confess to Feng Bailing about what happened between him and Nalan Yan’er, those things that were all in the past.
Dugu Wu left the corridor and headed to the Flower Hall.
Halfway there, he saw Dongfang Yu pacing out from the corridor ahead.
"Dugu Wu, I didn’t expect you’d really dare to come."
"Why wouldn’t I dare?"
Dugu Wu’s cold gaze met Dongfang Yu’s.
"Aren’t you afraid that I’ll reveal the shameful affair between you and Nalan Yan’er in front of everyone, in front of Princess Consort Wu?"
Dongfang Yu roared with anger.
In the sky, thunder suddenly exploded.
Dugu Wu knitted his brows.
"What nonsense are you talking about?"
"Nonsense? Do you think I’m still the naive Dongfang Yu you both could trick, the Dongfang Yu who was fooled by a pair of dogs? Everything, this letter told me everything!"
Dongfang Yu slammed a letter onto Dugu Wu’s body.
