Chapter 32: Chapter 32: Investigation
"You have ten minutes. Get up, now!" Archie Summers said irritably from outside, his face grim.
Although Mika Summers was unhappy that her brother had woken her up, she didn’t dare stay in bed. She got up, muttering to herself.
’What’s going on so early in the morning?!’
When she opened the door, she saw her brother leaning against the frame, waiting for her. He was dressed in a white casual outfit.
"What’s with you, Archie? Dressed like that, are you off to your own wedding?"
"Don’t be ridiculous. Hurry up and pack your things. We’re going to find a new place to live."
"Huh? We’re really going to find a new place?" she asked, stunned.
Archie Summers barked in exasperation, "Don’t tell me you’d rather keep living with some other man."
"That’s not..." ’I’m not living with another man. When has Tristan Grayson ever come back to live with me?’
’Sigh, I can’t tell him that, either.’
She frowned, unsure how to explain the situation to her brother.
"Mika, I don’t care what your relationship is with that guy—whether you’re roommates or a couple—starting today, you are forbidden from contacting him ever again!" With a grim expression, Archie Summers pulled out his phone and made a call. "Louise Jordan, get over here and knock on the door. Right now!"
"Yes, sir."
Mika Summers froze, stunned by Archie’s words.
KNOCK... KNOCK KNOCK... Before she could react, a rapid series of knocks echoed from the door.
She stared at Archie Summers in shock. "Archie, what’s going on?"
Archie Summers ignored her and opened the door, his expression blank.
"Boss." As the door opened, a woman in a black suit and sunglasses walked in.
’Boss?’ At that moment, Mika Summers was utterly shocked. She knew exactly what her brother was capable of—or rather, what he wasn’t. ’When did he become a ’boss’?’
’And this woman looks so intimidating.’
Archie Summers glanced at the woman with a cold look. "Go inside and pack up her things."
"Yes, sir." The woman, Louise Jordan, turned and gestured to someone outside the door.
In an instant, four men in matching black suits strode in from the hallway.
They all had menacing expressions as they entered, walked right past her, and headed for her room.
She stood frozen, filled with nothing but terror.
’What is my brother doing? How can he just let strangers into my home like this?’
She vividly remembered Tristan Grayson’s warning from last night.
The thought gave her a surge of courage, and she rushed to block their path. "What are you doing? Get out! All of you!" ’If Tristan Grayson finds out strangers came into his house, he’ll make me pay two hundred million!’
However, her attempt to stop them was useless. The men simply went about their business—some entering the room, others opening her cabinets and continuing to pack.
She whirled around in anger. "Archie, aren’t you going to tell them to stop?!" ’Why is he like a completely different person overnight? Yesterday, he didn’t even have money for food or a hotel room, and now he’s suddenly someone’s boss.’
"Mika, I’m doing this for your own good. You shouldn’t be living with a shady character." ’Especially not a man that dangerous.’
Hearing her brother’s words, her eyes began to well up. "He’s not a shady character..." ’He’s my ex-husband, the man I love most. How could he possibly be a ’shady character’?’
Seeing Mika like this, a complicated look filled Archie Summers’ eyes.
’I’ll have someone investigate how Mika has been living all these years. And I’ll find out who that man is, too.’
With that thought, he frowned and said in a low voice, "Louise Jordan, take my sister to the car and wait."
"Yes, sir."
