Chapter 40: Chapter 40: I’ll Fulfill You
Outside, Tristan Grayson listened to the sound of running water from the bathroom, growing increasingly agitated.
He had already poured and drunk three whole glasses of water.
But the more he drank, the more agitated he became.
Just as he couldn’t wait any longer and was about to knock, the sound of running water finally stopped.
His expression tensed instantly, and he returned to the bed with a dark look on his face.
A moment later, he saw the bathroom door open a thin crack.
Seeing this, Tristan Grayson’s brow furrowed. He suppressed the unsettling feeling in his chest and called out coldly, "Are you going to come out or not!"
"Um... Tristan... I-I don’t think I have... a change of clothes..." Hearing his furious voice, Mika Summers trembled and spoke timidly.
Tristan Grayson’s lip curled in a sneer. "They’ll have to come off sooner or later anyway. You... just come over like that."
"Huh?" ’Go over just like this?’
"What? You don’t want to? Or do you expect me to come carry you over?"
’Carry?’
As if she’d dare have Tristan Grayson carry her. Her face went pale as she shook her head frantically. "No..."
Tristan Grayson’s patience had completely run out. "If that’s not it, then get out here." ’Seeing how terrified she is, does she really think I’m that desperate?’
"Oh..." With her body trembling, she cautiously stepped out.
With every step she took, she felt as if her heart was going to leap out of her chest.
Watching the woman move as slowly as a tortoise, Tristan Grayson lost all patience. "Faster! Don’t test my patience!" ’Countless women were out there, dying to be with him. And that didn’t even include the ones who wanted to bear his children.’
’But this woman?’
’How could she be so ungrateful? Was this pitiful, reluctant act all for his benefit?’
’If that was her plan, she was sorely mistaken.’
’Because in his eyes, Tristan Grayson’s eyes, no woman other than Maggie Monroe was even worth a glance. And he certainly wouldn’t fall for one trying to act pitiful to get his attention or sympathy.’
He strode over, yanked her forward, and threw her onto the bed. "Is being with me such an ordeal for you?"
Mika Summers’s face was ashen. She stared at Tristan Grayson in terror. "..."
Tristan Grayson’s eyes narrowed, his lips twisting into a sneer. "You know, what I hate most is this nauseating act you’re putting on right now."
"..."
"You’re obviously desperate for this, yet you insist on playing innocent with me!" ’Does she really think I don’t know what’s on her mind?’
"I’m not acting..." ’I’m really just scared...’
’But why does Tristan always have to say things like that about me?’
’If he despises me so much, why does he keep provoking me?’
’Is it just to mock and humiliate me?’
A sudden wave of regret washed over her. Not knowing where the strength came from, she forcefully pushed Tristan away. "Tristan Grayson, I never begged you for this," she said, her voice trembling with indignation. ’That’s right. No matter how much I like him, I’ve never dared to hope for anything.’
’And I especially never wanted to provoke him.’
’I have pride, too. I won’t let him trample all over it again and again.’
Hearing her words, the anger inside Tristan Grayson blazed even hotter. "That’s right, you didn’t beg me. But haven’t you always wanted this? Fine. I’ll grant your wish. I’ll give you exactly what you want."
