Chapter 84: Chapter 84: Serves You Right
Once in the car, Mika Summers leaned against the window, thinking about what Tristan Grayson had just said.
"Please tell Mr. Summers that I, Tristan Grayson, am taking my wife with me, and no one can stop me!"
Those domineering words made her blush, and she lowered her head, giggling to herself.
’So, in his heart, I’m his wife.’
Mika Summers had never been in such a good mood. She was so happy she even forgot to be afraid.
Tristan Grayson smelled the light, distinctly feminine fragrance in the car, and his heart instantly grew agitated. "Sit properly!"
"Huh?" Hearing Tristan Grayson’s sudden outburst, Mika Summers looked at him in confusion.
"Sit properly!" Tristan Grayson repeated impatiently.
"Oh..." She frowned and fastened her seatbelt. "I’m sitt—AH!" Before she could finish, Tristan Grayson slammed on the accelerator, and the car shot forward.
The trip from the suburbs to the city center would normally take at least an hour during the day, but it was late and the roads were nearly empty. Thanks to Tristan Grayson driving at a breakneck speed and running countless red lights, they reached Regalia Fields in just half an hour.
It wasn’t until the car stopped at the front door that Mika Summers felt like she had come back to life.
She gasped for breath, patting her chest to calm herself down.
Tristan Grayson, however, acted as if nothing had happened. He got out of the car, and before she could even recover from the wild ride, he had already opened her door.
Tristan Grayson had intended to just yank her out, but he froze when he caught sight of her bare feet. His eyes darkened slightly. After a long moment, he finally spoke. "Where are your shoes?"
"Oh... those... I forgot to put them on..." Mika Summers answered cautiously, her face pale.
Hearing her words, Tristan Grayson’s anger flared uncontrollably. "Why don’t you just forget your own head while you’re at it!" ’She actually forgot to wear her shoes. Incredible! This woman had a real talent for driving a person insane without even trying.’
Being yelled at by Tristan Grayson like that, Mika Summers’s eyes welled up with tears. She lowered her head and retorted pitifully, "You only gave me one minute... so... I was in a rush and forgot..." ’I wouldn’t have forgotten if I’d had more time.’
Tristan Grayson struggled to suppress his fury, sneering, "So if I’d only given you ten seconds, would you have forgotten to wear clothes, too?"
"Not really. I hadn’t taken my clothes off yet."
"Say that again, I dare you!" ’So if she *had* taken her clothes off, she would have come out naked? This woman was absolutely infuriating.’
"..." Hearing Tristan Grayson’s threat, she just lowered her head, her eyes red, not daring to say another word.
Every time Tristan Grayson saw her with that meek, submissive look, he would get angry, and this time was no exception.
He roughly grabbed her and yanked her out of the car, paying no mind to her bare feet. He slammed the door shut with a BANG and started dragging her toward the house.
"Ah... It hurts... It hurts..." The courtyard outside their house was paved with cobblestones, and as soon as Mika Summers stepped into it, the sharp pain made her yelp and nearly jump.
Her cries startled Tristan Grayson, and he stopped abruptly. He looked down, and his anger only grew. He bent down, swept her up into his arms, and said furiously, "It serves you right! Let’s see if you dare to forget your shoes next time."
