“Ahhh, Li Wei, I love you! Please marry me!”
A heart-wrenching shout exploded like a thunderbolt from the blue, overpowering the other cheers; the rear door even fell into a brief silence.
All eyes fell on Li Wei.
Li Wei was neither shy nor flustered, casually looking in the direction of the voice, “Sorry, the application volume is overloaded, please take a number and join the queue.”
The fans laughed together, instantly brightening the mood.
“Rookie, are you alright? You’re not hurt, are you?”
“Are you not going home with Patrick today because you need an extra checkup?”
“Do you need to go to the hospital for an MRI tomorrow?”
One by one, fans expressed concern for Li Wei, and everyone else stopped making noise, holding their breath as they watched Li Wei, their eyes filled with unmistakable worry.
Li Wei chuckled softly, “You all should know that players are not supposed to discuss injury issues casually in private, right?”
“But, I’m fine, everything’s good. I went through some extra checks and received positive feedback. So, there’s nothing to worry about.”
In the air, you could distinctly hear a collective sigh of relief, so loud that no one could help laughing together.
What Li Wei said was the truth—
The team took special care concerning Li Wei’s condition, conducting thorough and deep checks after the game to ensure that their team captain was safe and sound.
After all, with the playoffs drawing nearer, the increasing intensity of the game’s competition naturally elevates the risk of injuries, and the team needs to be more cautious.
The checks took some time, but that wasn’t the reason Mahomes left early.
Normally, Mahomes would definitely wait for Li Wei, as there was nothing else to do at home; however, these days were a bit different, Brittany was in Kansas City.
Last year and this year, Brittany didn’t live in Kansas City for an extended period because, like Mahomes, she wanted him to concentrate on training.

After the game ended, Mahomes rushed home, eager to celebrate with Brittany; and Li Wei, naturally, didn’t wish to be the third wheel.
In the crowd, Karen also let out a long sigh of relief, although she herself was extremely worried, she didn’t forget to pat Felix on the shoulder.
“See, I told you, he’s fine.”
Felix nodded vigorously, his heart, previously hanging high, settled back into his chest, regaining his calm and patience as he quietly waited.

Li Wei had already spotted them before Karen could greet him, taking the initiative to come over and share a high five in celebration.
Felix couldn’t help but smile joyfully.
Li Wei immediately noticed Felix’s bloodless lips.
“God, you must be freezing.”
Without a second word, Li Wei took off his scarf, hat, and gloves and put them on Felix, wrapping him up snug and warm.
Felix looked slightly helpless, “Are you making a snowman or what?”
Li Wei spread his hands, “The technique might not be skilled, but it’s worth taking a look.”
“Haha.” Felix couldn’t hold back and laughed outright.
Karen looked at Li Wei with a face full of gratitude, wanting to say something but not knowing how to start, just standing there restrained and moved.
“I knew it; we’d fight to the end, we would never give up easily.” Felix didn’t notice his mother’s expression behind him, his face flushed with excitement, gesticulating, “The last two touchdowns were really amazing.”
Li Wei looked at Karen, responded with a glance, then looked at Felix, “Stop complimenting me, my tail is about to poke through the sky.”
Laughter spread all around.
With care, Felix took out a small paper bag from his embrace, and looking at Li Wei with a slightly shy and restrained look, he said, “This is a little gift, no no no, not a gift, just some of our doodles.”
“We?” Li Wei took the small paper bag without peeking inside, his eyes bright as he looked at Felix.
Felix shrugged lightly, “Yeah, a group of friends I met in the hospital.” His expression turned somewhat somber.
So those must be his fellow chemo patients?
The light paper bag in Li Wei’s hand suddenly felt very heavy.
Taking a deep breath, Felix managed a smile, “But we are all Chieftain fans, well, at least 90% of us. We gather together to watch away games; when we have chemo together tomorrow, we’ll have something to talk about, haha, today’s game should last us three or four hours.”
He paused for a moment.
“Li Wei, chemo is long and torturous, the whole room is so lifeless, it’s scarier than the grim reaper. But because of the Chieftains, we’ve found common ground, and those three or four hours don’t seem quite so bad.”
“We even negotiated with the hospital to put up some Chieftain-related artwork in the chemo room, and that doodle is one of the pieces we’ve completed together.”
Realization dawned on Li Wei’s face, “Wow, then this is priceless. So, am I accepting this on behalf of the entire team now?”
Felix chuckled awkwardly with a restrained scratch of his head.
Bending his knees to eye level with Felix, Li Wei said earnestly, “We will cherish it, we need your courage. You see, we’re just fighting against ordinary people, but you’re fighting against death itself. You’re the real role models; we need your spirit.”
Felix was so moved that joy surged within him, but he didn’t know how to express it.
Karen patted her son’s shoulder, “Felix, don’t forget.”
Finally snapping out of it, Felix said, “Right, the mission.”
“Li Wei, I have a friend, Annie, her condition is very, very bad. I was wondering if you could visit her in the hospital tomorrow?”
“It doesn’t need to take much time, ten minutes, no no no, just five minutes. Three minutes, just three minutes, that’s Annie’s only wish.”
