The patient was coughing up blood, but all tests indicated he was in good health with no inflammation.
July Quinn only gave him acupuncture; as for the medicine, it needed preparing, so she asked the patient to come back next time for it.
Because July Quinn had previously reversed Old Master Shaw’s condition within half a day, her reputation soared at Rosewell Hospital.
Even her treatment was unlike any other doctor’s.
Even the doctors who were heavily recruited from other hospitals could only watch with envy and resentment.
Some doctors thought July Quinn was revered too highly; they were curious and eager to learn her acupuncture techniques.
But other doctors were quite displeased with her.
Like Dr. William Owens, who used to belong to the special outpatient department and was also the deputy director at Rosewell Hospital.
"A young girl acting all high and mighty!"
"It’s just a few prescriptions, yet she makes the patient wait extra time! As if afraid others won’t know she’s hard to get an appointment with!"
He, along with other doctors, watched as July Quinn administered acupuncture to the patient.
In his view, apart from her speed in inserting needles, there was nothing else noteworthy or instructive.
As for medication, it was even more obscure.
He was full of skepticism regarding such a plain diagnostic process.
"Maybe the medicine is hard to find, that’s why Divine Doctor Quinn asked the patient to come next time."
Some doctors did stand by July Quinn.
For example, Ivan Zander, who specially recommended Director of the Miracle Hospital to the Ford family today.
As someone accomplished in Chinese medicine, he deeply understood how rare certain medicinal materials were.
"Even if it’s hard to find, that’s no excuse. I think she just can’t figure out how to treat it and wants to go home to look for ways."
In the end, William Owens mumbled, "With such little skill, how does she have the nerve to be the director?"
Indeed, what bothered William Owens more than July keeping the patient waiting was her sudden appointment as director.
In his perspective, he and July Quinn’s medical skills were about the same.
Previously, he gained fame at Ardmore Hospital for curing some chronic and difficult cases, leading to his recruitment to Rosewell Hospital as deputy director.
With his current rank and status, he had been waiting for Director Dylan Pierce to retire so he could rise up.
Instead, it was July Quinn’s sudden appointment.
The crux is, she’s so young.
Who knows how long he’d wait for her to retire for him to rise up.
So upon her sudden appointment, William Owens nursed the greatest grievances.
William Owens thought with his age and seniority, even if he publicly scolded July Quinn, she wouldn’t dare to retaliate.
But the reality slapped him hard in the face.
Sure enough, July Quinn tidied up her needles and gave him a leisurely smile.
"I indeed only have this little skill, unlike you who’s so skilled at ranting."
William Owens’s face turned red with anger: "What did you say?"
"I said you’re good at ranting. If you’re bored after retirement, you could become a professional troll online, surely the top in the industry."
July Quinn wasn’t someone who could be insulted and still smile and say it’s okay.
Holding back for a moment could lead to ovarian cysts, taking a step back could result in mammary hyperplasia.
Though she hadn’t experienced these ailments yet, precaution was always wise.
"If you... if you really cure this patient, I’ll write my name backwards."
Realizing he couldn’t outargue her, William Owens stormed off in a huff.
The remaining doctors exchanged glances, creating a slightly awkward atmosphere.
Only Ivan Zander stepped forward to comfort July Quinn.
"Director, don’t take Old Owens seriously. He just finds it hard to accept that someone is more skilled in handling complex cases than he is."
"It’s fine, I’m not bothered. After all, there are people who disdain me, what can I do? Plead to please them or commit murder and arson?"
"Alright, I’m heading back now. Once I gather the medicines, I’ll notify the patient to collect them."
July Quinn said this and then took the new flavor instant noodles from Owen Shaw, who’d rushed back, and turned to leave.
Unable to exchange another word with the goddess, Owen Shaw felt quite downcast.
