July Quinn was unconcerned.
Victor Hawthorne and his cronies, however, were alarmed.
"It’s about you and that Connor Hughes."
"They’re saying that your game achievements were all thanks to Connor Hughes playing for you, making you Master JULY."
"And that after achieving success, you abandoned Connor Hughes and took over the Master JULY account for yourself."
They couldn’t wait to update July Quinn with the details leaked on the campus forum.
Although they had witnessed July Quinn’s prowess firsthand and didn’t believe he would resort to having someone else play in his stead, the campus rumors couldn’t be stopped.
Concerned that July’s reputation might get completely ruined by this gossip, they were desperate for July to clear things up quickly.
After a long explanation, July Quinn asked blankly, "So, who is Connor Hughes?"
With that one sentence, Victor and the others were more convinced that the rumor was purely made-up.
"Dad, you might not know who Connor Hughes is, but the forum has laid it out clearly. Supposedly, he’s the son of your family’s chauffeur, a childhood sweetheart smitten by you, who then played games for you. Even now, if you’ve dumped him after becoming famous, he can’t bear to harm you."
After Victor finished speaking, he looked at July Quinn, waiting for a response.
"Dad, you should at least say something. You’re going to make us all die of anxiety."
Urged, July finally spoke, "Hearing you say this, I do remember who Connor Hughes is."
"What? Connor Hughes is real? I thought he was completely made up," a crony exclaimed, scratching his head.
"He’s not made up. He really is the son of the Quinn Family’s chauffeur," July said, a glint in her eyes.
"So, you and he..." Victor looked at July Quinn with a conflicted expression.
The chauffeur’s son part was true. Could it be that July and the guy really had something?
Before he could finish, July Quinn kicked him.
"Uncle Hughes is sixty this year. His son Connor is almost forty. I’d be crazy to avoid all the young studs and go for an old beetroot."
Victor chuckled awkwardly, relieved that there was nothing between them.
Otherwise, he was quite worried about July’s taste, ignoring young heirs like himself!
Whilst chuckling, Victor didn’t notice his ears burning with inexplicable heat.
July doesn’t care for old beetroot; she aims for young studs.

The cronies didn’t notice anything unusual, continuing to pester July, "Grandpa, why don’t you issue a statement now. Just post the real situation about Connor Hughes on the forum!"
"Yeah, yeah, shut those gossip lovers’ mouths."
Faced with their egging, July replied, "No rush."
"The fire’s almost at our eyebrows; how can it not be urgent?"
"If I let them trash my reputation without any punishment, wouldn’t everyone think they can step all over me in the future?"
July Quinn’s lips curled slightly.
