“What are you looking at?” The woman known as Lady Guiniang, noticing Madam Zhou’s gaze, snorted coldly, “Could it be that we are mistaken?”
Madam Zhou hung her head, wanting to walk past.
“From now on, don’t you dare walk in front of my house, lest you ruin our family’s feng shui.” Lady Guiniang scooped up a basin of water at her feet and flung it towards her.
The large basin of water spilled onto the ground, with the muddy water splattering onto Madam Zhou’s skirt and embroidered shoes.
Madam Zhou looked down at the dirt, unable to hold back her tears any longer.
Meanwhile, the perpetrator laughed with satisfaction.
Wufu’s face darkened, her eyes sharply fixed on the woman.
Lady Guiniang felt a chill run down her spine, and subconsciously looked up to meet a pair of dark, brooding eyes, causing her to stiffen all over.
Wufu stepped forward.
“What, what do you want to do?” Lady Guiniang clenched the wooden basin in her hands, staring at Wufu with distrust.
She felt her legs go weak; she wanted to turn around and go back inside, but her feet might as well have been nailed to the ground, unresponsive and immobile.
“Apologize,” Wufu declared, standing right in front of Lady Guiniang.
Madam Zhou seemed to snap out of her daze.
Seeing her daughter about to confront someone again, she quickly wiped away her tears and reached for her daughter’s arm, “Wufu, let it be.”
Wufu gave her a detached glance.
Madam Zhou’s lips moved, but then she faltered, unable to utter a single word of persuasion, her grip loosening.
Wufu turned her gaze back to Lady Guiniang, repeating her earlier demand: “Apologize!”
It was merely two plain words, yet they felt as cold and sharp as a knife pressed against one’s throat.
“Apologize for what?” Lady Guiniang swallowed hard, her façade intimidating but internally faltering, as she retorted, “You and your mother, nothing but a disgrace, one bad apple spoils the whole barrel…”
A cold smile played on Wufu’s lips.
Suddenly, with a flick and a kick, Lady Guiniang’s wooden basin was shattered against the wall.
Damn, these embroidered shoes are so thin, kicking that hurt my toe.
However, the people in front of her couldn’t fathom Wufu’s thoughts at the moment and merely stared blankly at the pile of wood splinters.
What, what just happened?
“Wufu, let’s just go,” Madam Zhou urged, pulling her angry daughter with her as she came to her senses first.
Wufu pulled away her hand, saying, “Mother, remember this, there are no words such as ‘let it be’ in Wufu’s dictionary!”
Lady Guiniang shrieked, pointing at Wufu, “You, you’re being insolent!”
The daughter-in-law standing by Lady Guiniang swallowed nervously, stepping back instinctively.
Looking at the pile of wooden pieces, she thought, this is serious, how did she do that?
With just a kick, the basin broke apart?
Is this child born with supernatural strength?
“I told you to apologize, and you should’ve listened obediently.
Now look, was it not a shame what happened to the wooden basin?” Wufu pointed to the wooden basin, or rather, the pile of wooden fragments, and said, “You better remember this lesson.
I can have a bit of a temper and really can’t stand all that nonsense talk.
