The Old Zhou family couldn’t find peace for an entire night, and similarly, Wufu’s small household was also in turmoil throughout the night. The cause was nothing other than Madam Zhou coming down with a fever in the middle of the night. "I can eat by myself," Madam Zhou said as she got out of bed, but upon standing up, she swayed, dizzy and lightheaded.
Wufu supported her and pressed her back onto the bed, saying, "You lost quite a bit of blood, and you had a fever last night. You’re still weak, don’t get up, rest. I’ll call Hongyu in to attend to you."
Madam Zhou felt very dizzy and obediently lay down. Wufu had Hongyu bring some porridge to feed her and also prepared the medicine left by Bai Xiaobai for her to take.
"Miss," Liu Jin appeared at the entrance of the main house.
Wufu told Madam Zhou to rest and walked out the door.
"Big Uncle Master is here," said Liu Jin with a grave voice.
Wufu’s gaze sharpened. He dared to come.
As she went outside, indeed, she saw Zhou Xuennian standing at the door with his hands behind his back, wearing the silk robe that only a Scholar Master would wear.
Liu Jin coughed softly.
Zhou Xuennian turned around and upon seeing Wufu, his face grew ugly and disdainful. It was this domineering, arrogant girl who made the Zhou family’s life miserable. She should have been taken care of with a bowl of medicine while still in her mother’s womb.
"What are you doing here?" Wufu looked at him coldly.
"Where is your mother?" Zhou Xuennian looked past her, saying, "Tell her to come out and speak with me."
Wufu laughed coldly, saying, "Do you really not know or are you pretending? My mother’s head was smashed by your son, and she can’t even get out of bed now!"
Zhou Xuennian’s face shifted slightly.
"You’d better pray my mother gets better. If she dies, your son will be a murderer, and I will make sure he’s buried with her," Wufu’s face was grim.
Zhou Xuennian’s breath hitched, and he exclaimed angrily, "Insolence." Grinding his teeth, he continued, "You can’t just accuse someone of a crime without evidence."
Wufu didn’t bother to waste words with him and turned to leave.
"Stop right there!" Zhou Xuennian, seeing her so defiant, became even angrier and said, "I’m here to tell you and your mother that you can’t live in this house anymore. Move out immediately."
Wufu spun around swiftly, her eyes glaring at him as she spat out, "So, you’re here to drive my mother and me away?"
Zhou Xuennian averted his gaze, saying, "This house is originally the property of the Old Zhou family. As for you two, your mother was married off, and it was only out of pity that we let you live here for free for so many years. Now, we have a use for it, so we need to take it back. You don’t need to worry about paying any silver."

"Zhou Xuennian, after your son committed that heinous act, my mother didn’t receive an apology from you; instead, we got your eviction notice?" Wufu laughed mockingly.
"It’s because you two don’t know your place," Zhou Xuennian gritted his teeth, saying, "If you had just behaved, we would have let you stay. But what did you do? And how did you act? You can’t blame me for being harsh; you’re too brazen and unruly—it’s nobody’s fault but your own!"
