The instant it did, Odette's scythe reappeared in her hands, and she cradled it with both hands, watching the cracks that had littered every inch of the weapon.
In the next moment, it shattered into pieces before crumbling to ash, and Odette collapsed to her knees.
Most of her robes had been torn apart, her body covered in gash wounds that still burned with white flames.

The purity of which left her in disbelief.
"Tell me," Ryuk said, bringing her out of her disbelief, just for a sudden stinging pain to sneak through her being.
Her lips opened, and pitch-black blood burst out from them.
Her eyes widened as she looked at the end of the blade that had stabbed into her.
But it didn't stop; Ryuk's arms stretched, each part sharpening into a blade that sank deeper and deeper into her navel, the pain rippling through her very soul.
"How does it feel to give it your all…and fail!?" he asked as her teeth gritted in anger, only to succumb to pain as another wave of blood burst out.
Purple flames raged out of the blade, devouring her every cell and sending forth an even more mind-numbing pain.
"It leaves a terrible taste, doesn't it? That helplessness as you realize all your efforts are futile." Ryuk spat, the memories of his brutal defeat replaying in his head at that moment.
"It's a sickening nightmare, isn't it?" he asked, as Odette finally reached the edge of the blade.
Both their eyes stared into each other, and all Ryuk saw was anger and rage.
But it was soon replaced by pain.
A second blade stabbed through her, hot and fiery, ripping out chunks of organs from behind her back.
Blood burst out, and when he looked into her eyes now, his eyes glinted with light.
"Ahhh, there it is. That horror of helplessness. Even you yourself aren't beyond it, it seems…" he said, but the world was starting to turn blurry.
She could feel her life slipping, and what's more, her hold on this body was also slipping.
