It was cold!
Even for Ryuk, who was used to cold, it was still cold, and it was dark.
Pitch black.
When he stepped out of the wall, his body regained its physicality, and he silently swam forward.
Now that he was in here, he could feel the abyssal energy concentration greater than ever, making him want to switch to his Knullic form.
And he did.
In an instant, he went from the sleek, scaly form to the more brutish, ash-painted Knullic form and swam forward.
Only after swimming through the deep darkness for about an hour did Ryuk pause.
There was no longer a path to continue.
Instead, an unending chasm stood right before him.
An abyss, deeper than anything Ryuk had ever seen, with his vision failing to find its end.
Yet, deep from that abyss, he could feel even more abyssal energy churning out like a wave.
'Just what is hidden down there?'
He thought to himself, and in the next moment, he swam down.
Halfway down the abyss, the space around him rippled like stepping through a vortex.
It had occurred faster than he could react, and when he reappeared, surprise colored his face.
It was a new world.
A new world where ginormous dark pillars stretched into the distance as far as his eyes could see.
But it wasn't the pillars, it was what lay coiled around them.
They were tentacles, woven around these huge pillars, and their source was from a race of pitch black abyssal krakens.
The pillars were uncountable, the same as the number of Krakens, and when Ryuk saw them, his heart jumped a bit.
There were so many Krakens before him, and unlike the Krakens he had seen before, these were different.
Their auras were dark, oozing with ripples of abyssal energy.
All had their eyes shut tight, but not for long.
Almost as if they could sense his presence, a thousand crimson eyes snapped open all at once, each one locking directly onto Ryuk.
His spine chilled looking at them all at once.
A voice rang out after,
"It's Been More Than A Century Since Something Else Came From The Other Side."
"How Have You Done It… Knull?"
The words resonated through as Ryuk's eyebrows furrowed.
They had all been locked in here for a century?
Now he knew why the dark walls and the runic lines were over them.
It was truly to divide the kingdom into two, with the other side filled with the abyssal Krakens.
It matched what Zaffree had told him a long time ago: that there were Krakens that used Apex energy and others that used Abyssal energy, while there were only three that used special energy, save for the main two.
This must be the Abyssal Krakens.
"There is a wall. I simply phased through it," he replied.
"Was it King Yorimunda that locked you all here?" He asked after, only for a sharp disdainful voice to follow,
"Do You Think That Slave of A Fish Could Hold Us All Back!?"
"It Took All The Remaining Seven Krakenoid Races Working Together to Keep Us Abyssal Krakens In This Abyss!"
"And The Bones Used To Make That Walls Didn't Look Like Ours, Did They?"
The voice came almost like a roar, yet filled with absolute pride, and maybe a bit of wickedness.
'Interesting. I thought the bone walls were just a simple dead end. Never expected it to hide an entire race of Krakens.' He thought to himself before turning to the Abyssal Krakens.
"You're proud of your might, but you all are the ones rotting beneath the abyss."
"What's that arrogance I feel from you?"
He asked, watching as the crimson stares ignited, massive pressure flooding out.
"They Did Not Win."
"They Could Not Win."
"They Wanted To Get Rid Of us."
"They Wanted To Wipe Us Out, But They Failed."
"In The end, They Could Only Keep Us Locked."
"We Never Failed, Neither Were We Ever Defeated!"
The voice roared back, only to quiet down a moment later before rumbling again.
"What Is Your Purpose Here, Knull?"
"I already said it. I was just wandering around."
"Now that I've seen what's here, I don't think there's any use staying any longer," he added, turning his back.
But he had not gone very far when the words boomed:
"Release Us!"
Ryuk paused.
"Release Us, And We Will Grant You One of Your Greatest Wishes," it said, as Ryuk slowly turned, amusement in his eyes.
"Hmmm? And What If I Don't?"
"We Will Kill You."
"Hundreds of Thousands of Krakens Have Died By Our Hands, And We Have Ended More Races Than You Have Ever Seen."
"You Will Be Dead In An Instant," it said, and in that moment, Ryuk noticed a dome of abyssal energy phasing out from the world and masking everything.
He turned behind him and found the dome, his hand reaching for it, only to slightly jerk back when he felt the stinging electricity.
"This Dome Repels All That Possessed Abyssal Energy And Keeps Everything Locked In."
"You Will Not Be Able To Escape," the voice said, only to watch in the next moment as Ryuk's Knullic body suddenly changed.
His brutish form turned sleeker, becoming a jade dragon, and when his hand touched the dome this time, it phased right through.
In a second, Ryuk was out of the dome, appearing on the other side.
From there, he looked at the Krakens, watching the glint of dumb disbelief that crossed their eyes.
"You said something about keeping me locked in? What was that again?" Ryuk snickered, taunting tone in his voice, and continued out of the place.
"You…" the voice said, but Ryuk didn't pause.
"A dragon… A Knull… A perfect fusion of two opposing bloodlines…" the voice came like a rambling chant, and Ryuk unconsciously slowed down.
"I know you. You're Ryuk!" it roared out.
'And here comes the annoying part,' Ryuk thought silently.
"Ryuk. The King of Two Dooms!"
