Chapter 57: Chapter 57 Prince and Princess
“OK, actors please take your places, three, two, one, action!”
Behind the camera, the director shouted start, and the whole set fell silent.
The scene was about Ning Xiner realizing that the ‘little rascal’ she had talked about was none other than Gu Chen—Young President Gu. She hurriedly apologized, but Gu Chen did not accept it and insisted that she accompany him to a ball, even personally selecting a couture dress for her.
Ning Xiner went into the fitting room to change, and when she came out, the long dress trailed on the floor, and she looked stunningly beautiful, truly astonishing Gu Chen.
Ning Xiner, “Young President Gu, I’m ready, let’s go to the ball.”
Gu Chen stroked his chin, surveying her from all sides, “Wait a second, turn around.”
Ning Xiner, puzzled, turned around, and Gu Chen walked behind her, “The zipper isn’t done up properly.”
He slowly zipped it up for her, but after doing so, he remained standing behind her without leaving.
Ning Xiner felt his gaze on her, feeling a bit uncomfortable and somewhat shy, “Why are you always staring at my back?”
At this point, Gu Chen’s line should have been ‘It looks good, too good,’ but Ye Xian suddenly threw in, “Sister’s back is not just a back, but a Bulgarian rose.”
“What kind of adorable flattery is that!”
Peals of laughter erupted on the set once again.
When Ye Xian acted, there was always some kind of magical power about him, a power that made it impossible to take your eyes off him, and you just kept wanting to watch him perform.
A muted grey Rolls-Royce stopped outside the filming studio, and from it emerged an eye-catching and handsome figure.
The crew, either focused on filming or intently watching Ye Xian act, paid no attention to the commotion outside, only security noticed Jiang Wanze, exclaiming in surprise, “Second Young Master Jiang, are you here for Cheng Jing…”
Jiang Wanze saw that filming was in progress and interrupted him, “Don’t make a sound, I’ll wait until they’re finished.”
He looked in the direction of the camera, and when he caught sight of a familiar figure, his heart skipped a beat.
He hadn’t seen him around recently and thought his brother had warned him off, that he had gotten scared and gone into hiding for a while.
But to think, he was acting?
He had started acting again?
He vaguely remembered his first movie, which bombed at the box office and received horrendous reviews, and it was due to impulsively agreeing to act because of something he said.
Now what was it for? If he couldn’t be in front of his eyes, should he let the drama take his place?
Gu Chen took Ning Xiner to the ball, and Ning Xiner noticed that the male and female leads were also there, behaving intimately and chatting with enthusiasm, which immediately stirred up her jealousy. Just as she was about to rush over and create a scene, Gu Chen pulled her back.
Ning Xiner, “What are you doing, let go!”
Gu Chen’s lips formed a slight smirk, “Going over there brashly will only make him dislike you more.”
“Sister, I didn’t expect you to be so smart, yet so foolish when facing men.”
Gu Chen suddenly wrapped his arm imperiously around her waist, leading the floating-dress clad Ning Xiner to the center of the dance floor.
The spotlight shone down, casting a dazzling light onto Gu Chen, dressed in a black suit, and Ning Xiner, in a white dress, creating a harmonious and perfect scene like a prince and princess.
The set sounded lively, and Pang Kai curiously wound down his car window.
Bo Tingshen slightly lifted his gaze, only to catch sight of that scene.
Ye Xian was dancing with Jiang Xin, gracefully twirling her around, a playful and elegant smile tugging at his lips, more captivating than the live piano music playing in the background.
Jiang Wanze, watching Ye Xian’s familiar dance moves, felt his pupils shrink slightly in disbelief.
How could someone who barely managed group dances after hundreds of rehearsals dance the tango so fluidly and beautifully?
