Chapter 99 – The Ones Who Shouldn’t Be There

—CRACK!

With the sound of shattering, the screen cut out.

The drone’s footage lasted barely a second before it was destroyed.

But even that one second... was enough.

As the final image of the intruders’ faces flickered past, Jhin ’s brow furrowed. Just that glimpse was enough to identify them.

He stared at the now-dark tablet screen, his voice low and grim.

"...The Company."

The men in the footage had been wearing masks. The one who smashed the drone wore a black mask—its design familiar, something Jhin felt he’d seen before.

’Of course, not every masked group in New Capital has to be the Company...’

But if you added in the fact that these people might be the ones who summoned Kyle from Exodia1?

That sealed it.

A group that feared Kyle.

A group that wore masks.

Who else could it be but the Company?

Millie murmured, "Don’t tell me... this dungeon belongs to the Company?"

Jhin shook his head immediately.

Whatever their goal was, this place clearly hadn’t been created by them.

"If they had made this space,Kyle would never have been summoned in the first place."

Why would they go out of their way to bring in their greatest enemy?

This place had far too many variables to have been engineered by the Company. And Jhin knew—they weren’t the kind of group to make sloppy moves.

His brow deepened with unease.

’This isn’t good. The Company showing up here... it’s too convenient.’

He didn’t even need to think deeply about why they were here or what they were after.

Whatever their objective, it couldn’t possibly benefit him.

Which meant—

"Whatever it is, we have to stop them."

But no one replied to Jhin ’s declaration.

He turned and saw Adonis standing stiff, a look of confusion on his face.

"...Wait. Someone summoned who?"

Before anything else, the misunderstanding had to be cleared up.

"...They spotted us."

Conard scowled, having just smashed the drone.

Around him, his team scanned the surroundings, tense.

"Team Leader... what is this place?"

"I don’t know."

"Is it... a dungeon?"

They’d been chased through Bey World for quite some time by monsters.

But with Kyle’s sudden appearance, they had barely managed to escape the worst of it.

Now, they had made it out to the road beyond the park.

And there, beyond the road, it appeared.

Conard stared at the pulsing black void ahead of them.

It looked like a black hole—far unlike any dungeon he’d seen before, despite years of experience.

"What I do know... is that everything probably started here."

"Sorry?"

"This is it. The source of the Bermuda Zone’s power."

His eyes lit up as he looked toward the dungeon.

If his instincts were right, then this place held the origin of Kyle’s power.

"Even if it’s by chance... finding this before he did might be fate."

"...Sir?"

"I’m not talking about fate like it’s destiny. I mean this is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity."

This place—no matter how many times he looked at it—was completely unknowable.

Kyle from Exodia1 had been summoned.

The S-rank dragon Arman had appeared.

It made no sense.

Which meant it was dangerous.

"But if we use it right... it could become a weapon."

Conard glanced back toward the chaos of Bey World.

Explosions still thundered like a battlefield.

And it was all caused by just two beings—Kyle and Arman .

If there were more monsters like Arman ?

"...That would be insane."

"Exactly. If we can mass-produce dragonkin, we won’t need to fear Kyle ever again."

Even Clarke wouldn’t be able to hold out if they had an army of dragons.

"Dragonkin are defined by being unkillable. In front of an immortal legion, even Kyle would be useless."

His hand trembled slightly as he stared at the dungeon—barely able to contain his excitement.

He licked his lips.

’And if needed... we could even blow this place sky-high.’

He had a stockpile of Dungeon Flowers.

With those, he could forcibly destabilize the dungeon and trigger a Dungeon Break.

That alone would be enough to kill Kay—the very goal they’d come here for.

"We’ll do what we always do. Survey the dungeon. Take what we need. Use it as a weapon."

Break Team 3 of the Company—their job was to plant Dungeon Flowers in weak dungeons and force them into Dungeon Breaks.

But they also had a secondary role:

Exploring rare or unstable dungeons and turning them into assets.

That had been the case with the D-rank dungeon "Runaway Ghost Train," which had recently been stolen by Kyle.

A win credited to Break Team 1.

Conard addressed his squad.

"If this goes well, we’ll be promoted too—just like Team 1. Bonuses all around."

"OHHHH!"

"Ready to move up, people?!"

"YES, SIR!!"

Revved up, Break Team 3 charged confidently toward the dungeon.

Even though the hole was throbbing with ominous energy—warning them to stay away—it wasn’t enough to stop their ambition.

But then—

taptaptap!

Something strange came bouncing into view.

A bear.

A suspicious-looking bear mascot suit came sprinting past from the side.

Chapter 100– The Dungeonization Begins

"...A monster?"

They raised their weapons instinctively.

But the bear didn’t even look at them. It didn’t stop running—it just threw itself into the dark void.

Looking closer... it might have been a person inside.

’A costume?’

Conard exhaled the breath he’d been holding.

"Why are you all just standing there? Kyle’s gonna be here any second. Finish the job before he shows. Move!"

"Y-yes, sir!"

Conard and the six members of Break Team 3 dove into the dungeon.

Jhin was moving under the cover of darkness—cutting through Bey World in silence.

The place was still burning hot from the ongoing battle between Kyle and Arman .

And thanks to that noise, the monsters were too distracted to notice a small squad moving quietly through.
