DxD: I Steal Luck Chapter 69

"This guy's sword broke, it's a good opportunity."

"The game is lost, but if we kill him, maybe we have a chance to survive."

Several injured members of the Apollo Familia, their eyes filled with murderous intent, looked at Blake and silently nodded in agreement. They pulled out knives emitting magical energy.

The Apollo Familia had already realized—the gap in strength between them and Blake was absolute. They had lost the game, and if it continued as it had been, their fate was sealed. Being toyed with by Blake would be a light punishment; the real problem was Apollo's personality, which they knew all too well. It could only be described as hellish.

So, they had no choice but to take extreme measures. If they ambushed and killed Blake, they could turn the tables. Even if they became infamous, so what? At least it would mean a chance to survive—at worst, they could escape Orario.

However, their sneaky plans did not go unnoticed by high-level adventurers like Ais, Ryu, Ottar, and Todd.

Just as Ais placed her hand on her sword hilt and Ryu summoned swirling winds to intervene, Ottar stepped forward, blocking their way with a silent but overwhelming presence. Their pupils shrank, their bodies stiffened for a moment. Ottar's aura was terrifying, far surpassing theirs. As a Level 7 adventurer, his strength had reached the level of a high-tier monster—something neither Ais nor Ryu could compare to.

"Little brat, go to hell and repent!"

At the same time, the six members of the Apollo Familia twisted their faces in a grim expression. Five of them gripped their magic swords tightly and unleashed their strongest attack. Five massive flames converged together, forming a raging firestorm that rushed toward Blake.

Watching the Apollo Familia's sudden attack, the surrounding adventurers showed expressions of disgust, angrily glaring at them.

Most of the adventurers present were decent people, and what they hated the most were sneak attacks and underhanded tactics.

Every year, countless adventurers died in the dungeon not only because of monsters but also because of people . In fact, humans themselves were often the greater threat.

Faced with the ambush, Blake merely looked up indifferently at the flames. He had sensed their malicious intent long ago. However, he hadn't intended to bother with these insignificant pests.

But since they dared to do such a thing, he had no problem eliminating them now. After all, they had just given him a legitimate reason.

Under the gazes of the worried, expectant, and cursing adventurers, Blake clenched his left fist and, to everyone's astonishment, punched the firestorm.

"Hey, wait, punching fire? Are you serious?!"

Just as everyone was thinking this, the firestorm formed by the five magic swords disappeared the moment it made contact with Blake's left fist. If not for the faint black smoke still lingering in the air, they would have thought they were seeing things.

In the next moment, Blake calmly clenched his right fist and swung it toward the Apollo Familia.

Something that made everyone widen their eyes happened—the firestorm that had vanished earlier suddenly reappeared. However, this time, it was condensed into a dark reddish-yellow fireball that shot toward the Apollo Familia with even greater speed than before.

Before the six members of the Apollo Familia could react, a powerful explosion engulfed them. They screamed in agony before being burned to ash in an instant.

The majority of the adventurers were stunned, staring in disbelief at the ashes that were once the six Apollo Familia members.

Meanwhile, the high-level adventurers—those above Level 3—looked at Blake's rings with flickering gazes, their expressions unreadable.

With their strength, they could tell that this strange phenomenon was related to the two rings Blake was wearing.

"I don't have a sword for now... well, I guess I'll just do this," Blake murmured, his voice as calm as ever, as if he hadn't just wiped out six people.

He sheathed the broken sword hilt back into its scabbard and let out a small sigh.

In truth, he was relieved. Fortunately, it was just this cheap iron sword that had broken—not Frost Whisper. While Frost Whisper was of much higher quality, it wouldn't last forever either. If it had shattered, that would have been devastating.

Blake hadn't expected One Sword to Rule All to put such a strain on his weapons.

"This friend, could you help me with something?"

Blake slowly approached a young adventurer, patted him on the shoulder, and smiled.

"Uh, uh, yes! Big brother, just say it! As long as I can do it, I'll make sure to help!"

Hearing this, the young adventurer snapped out of his daze, a fervent gleam in his eyes as he looked at Blake. He didn't even wait for an explanation before nodding enthusiastically.

Seeing this, Blake found it a bit strange. Was this guy becoming his fan?

"My sword is broken. Can I borrow yours? I'll give you those magic swords over there as compensation."

The surrounding adventurers were dumbfounded, their mouths hanging open as they stared at Blake.

Wait, wait, wait—are you serious?! You're giving away five magic swords just to borrow a standard longsword?! Are you that wasteful?! Those are magic swords! They could save your life in a critical moment!

"Uh, big brother, I'm willing! I'm willing!"

The young adventurer was startled for a moment, but then he quickly jumped in excitement. He eagerly unstrapped his standard longsword and handed it to Blake, afraid that Blake might change his mind.

"Also, could you take this sword and bury it somewhere for me?"

After receiving the longsword, Blake seemed to remember something and handed the now-useless iron sword to the young adventurer.

"That's about it. Good luck. And remember, don't get too greedy—greed can cost you your life."

Blake patted the young adventurer's shoulder meaningfully before walking off without hesitation toward the 17th floor, leaving the stunned young man behind.

Low-level magic swords weren't very useful to Blake or adventurers above Level 4, but for those below that level, they were valuable and would undoubtedly attract attention.
