DxD: The Replication System! Chapter 51

In the corridor, a figure stood frozen, hand over mouth, eyes wide with horror.

A girl, sixteen or seventeen, wore an ornate nun's habit, its white and gold accents radiating a saintly aura, unlike the standard black.

A veil framed her face, revealing long, blonde hair that shimmered like spun gold.

"Asia Argento?" Roy asked, a grin tugging at his lips.

No need to raid the church tonight—she was here.

"Father Freed!" Asia gasped, seeing Roy's foot on Freed Sellzen's broken hand.

"Help me, Asia!" Freed howled, grasping at a lifeline.

"This devil-tainted human's gonna kill me!"

"Stay put," Roy said, his tone sharp, locking eyes with Asia.

She froze mid-step, trembling. After a moment, she whispered, "Please… let Father Freed go?"

"You serious? He came to kill me."

"Kill you?" Asia blinked, turning to Freed, stunned.

"Father Freed, you said this house had a demonic presence, and we were here to exorcise it…"

Freed had ordered Asia to set a barrier upstairs to trap the "demonic presence."

The fight's noise drew her out to check.

"Devil-tainted humans are no better than demonic presence!" Freed spat.

"They're scum, fit only to die!"

"But he's just human," Asia said, voice shaking.

"He hasn't done anything wrong. Why kill him?"

"Shut up!" Freed roared.

"You're no church saint anymore, you cast-off tool!"

"Without us, you'd be dead."

"Get over here and block this devil-tainted scum!"

"How's that empty-headed fool brain of yours working?" Roy said, lifting his foot from Freed's right hand, only to stomp his left, shattering it.

The holy pistol clattered to the floor.

"Shouldn't you be nice when begging a teammate for help?" Roy sneered.

"Talking like that, you think you'll die slower?"

"Teammate? That empty-minded idiot's just a tool!" Freed screamed.

"Want her? Take her and let me go!"

"Father Freed?" Asia whispered, disbelief cracking her voice.

"Quiet, tool!" Freed snapped.

"You were the church's toy before, now you're someone else's."

"Even if she's an empty-minded idiot, she's easy on the eyes and has a Sacred Gear," Freed said to Roy.

"Like her? She's yours!"

Two figures emerged, black wings spread, hovering mid-air, glaring down at Roy.

"Freed, I heard that," the female fallen angel said coldly.

"Asia's our property. What gives you the right to bargain with her?"

"Oh, Lord Fallen Angel, you're here!" Freed crowed, ecstatic.

"Hahaha, devil-tainted scum, you're done!" Freed taunted Roy.

"We've got fallen angel heavyweights. Prepare to die, chopped to bits!"

"Kalawarner, check his hand," the male fallen angel, Dohnaseek, said, eyeing Roy's Sacred Gear.

"Sacred Gear?" Kalawarner scoffed.

"Just a gauntlet-type, nothing special. You let that beat you, Freed? Pathetic."

"We should've handled him ourselves," she added.

"Lord Fallen Angel, this guy's a monster!" Freed whined.

"Monster or not, you're just useless," Kalawarner said, her eyes glinting with sarcasm.

"Brat, I spared you last time. Now you're scheming against us? Bold."

Roy wasn't a stranger to the fallen angels.

They remembered him as the kid who'd snuck into the church one night.

They'd dismissed him as a nobody, not a Sacred Gear wielder.

"You planted that monitor in the church, didn't you?" Dohnaseek asked.

Freed's discovery of the device under the altar had rattled them.

After racking their brains, Roy— the night intruder—became their prime suspect, leading to Freed's ambush.

"Asking what you already know, huh?" Roy said, smirking. He glanced at Freed.

"Thanks for the gifts, though."

Roy's foot snapped down, breaking Freed's neck.

"Grrk—!" Freed's eyes bulged, blood gurgling from his mouth.

He twitched, then stilled, dead.

"Freed was a lowly servant, but killing him in our faces?" Dohnaseek growled.

"You mocking us fallen angels?"

"Just two Low-Class fallen angels," Roy sneering.
