E-Rank or SSS-Rank: I Awakened a Skill That Shouldn't Exist Chapter 206

The heroes who had just been treated—every wound mended, every drop of stamina restored—felt as if they had awoken from a dream. Their fatigue was gone, their breathing steady, their bodies renewed. It was as though they had never stepped foot on the blood-soaked battlefield.

For a brief moment, they simply stood there, almost in disbelief, basking in that alien sensation of being whole again. But the illusion didn’t last. Shouts, roars, and the clashing of steel against fang yanked them back to reality.

With renewed determination, the heroes surged forward—yet before they could scatter, Jim’s sharp voice cut through the chaos.

"Form up! Gather here!"

The heroes obeyed, clustering into a tight formation. Then Jim gave a single, deliberate order.

Each of them glanced down at their pristine white armor. Embedded at the center of their chestplate was a faintly glowing blue emblem in the shape of a "T." Without hesitation, they pressed it.

The moment the symbols lit up fully, a low, harmonious hum spread through the air, as though the armor itself had come alive. Thin azure lines running along the armor’s frame blazed to life, crawling across every plate like flowing veins of light.

But the real change was internal.

A wave of foreign yet familiar sensations crashed into each of them. It was as if invisible threads had been tied from mind to mind, binding them all together. They could feel each other—not vaguely, but with startling clarity. Every thought, every intent, every instinct was shared in real-time. The strength of one bled into another. Even emotions pulsed across the link, syncing their wills into one heartbeat.

And then, their power surged.

No longer a scattered force, the heroes became a single entity. They charged back into the beast hordes, and the difference was immediate. Blades swung exactly when they needed to. Shields intercepted blows before the enemy could even commit to an attack. Arrows flew to cover blind spots without anyone having to shout a warning. They fought like the fingers of the same hand—individually capable, but devastating when moving as one.

On the battlefield, the change was so sudden and so precise that even the most seasoned veterans watching couldn’t hide their shock.

Clara, however, understood perfectly. She knew the cause: the Tryst Combat Suit—a powerful B-rank armor newly mass-produced by the Forge. Although the project had not yet reached full completion, the available suits had been issued to the Trust Guild heroes and several allied champions.

On paper, the armor’s stats alone were astonishing—offense and defense surpassing any standard B-rank equipment, nearing the threshold of peak A-rank gear. Its defensive layering could turn aside strikes that would have shredded lesser armor, and its passive fatigue-reduction ability allowed the wearer to fight far longer without slowing.

But the true strength of the Tryst Combat Suit lay in its signature skill: Unity Resonance.

When activated, this ability merged every connected wearer into a single mental and physical network. No orders were needed. No words. No hesitation. In the middle of the chaos, a hero could pivot to defend a comrade miles away without even turning their head, simply because the connection told them it was needed.

Against an overwhelmingly powerful singular enemy, the skill might have been of limited value. But against endless waves of monsters—against a swarm that required perfect coordination—it was perfection itself.

And Clara wasn’t idle. While the newly synchronized heroes carved through the beasts, she moved like a living storm. Her blade tore through the ranks, cutting down any monster that might become a threat. Around the field, other elites mirrored her efforts—targeting the stronger, higher-ranked creatures before they could break the line.

A clawed hand burst clean through the armored belly of a three-tailed scorpion, talons ripping out the other side in a spray of steaming blood. The monstrous insect twitched, legs flailing, before collapsing in a heap of twitching chitin.

Standing above the corpse was Aiden—his body slick with gore, breath steady but eyes cold. By now, more than forty of these creatures had fallen to his claws alone. Yet when he glanced across the battlefield, their numbers hadn’t truly diminished.

Not enough. Not nearly enough.

The tide of beasts was thinning, but that was largely because the other heroes had been restored to full strength—or perhaps even stronger than before. Still, something gnawed at him. His clawed fingers flexed open and closed, the movement tight and deliberate.

It wasn’t pain, nor fatigue—it was far stranger. A sickening duality, as though something was both pulling him closer and pushing him away at the same time. It was like a whisper clawing at the edge of his mind, beckoning him.

His gaze slid past the battlefield, toward the small, craggy mountain in the distance. Beyond it... something was there. He could feel it. Whatever was spewing out these creatures had to be on the other side. And if it was a portal—or worse—he needed to see it with his own eyes.

Without hesitation, Aiden’s stance shifted. His legs lengthened, muscle fibers writhing beneath his skin, joints snapping into place as his lower body morphed into the sleek, predatory frame of a high-speed beast.

In a blur of motion, he tore through the battlefield, cutting down anything foolish enough to block his path.

From a short distance away, a figure in a pristine white combat suit with gold linings was slicing through the beasts with surgical precision. Behind the white faceplate, Clara’s eyes caught sight of Aiden breaking from the formation and sprinting toward the mountain. She exhaled sharply.

What the hell is that lunatic planning now?

Clara’s eyes narrowed. She had seen that wild, reckless charge before—and it had never ended without blood. The air around him almost seemed to ripple with dangerous intent, a storm building with each heartbeat.

"Damn it," she hissed under her breath, mana surging through her veins. Wings of pure energy erupted behind her in a blaze of light, scattering motes of power into the wind. Without hesitation, she hurled herself into the sky, the world blurring around her as she chased his fading figure.

The distance between them shrank, but so did the time. Whatever Aiden was rushing toward... it was waiting.
