"A doll?" His thin lips curled, "Do I remind you of a doll?"
This kind of question... How was she supposed to answer? If she said yes, probably no man would think being associated with a doll was a good thing, but if she said no, she didn't know how to cover up the lie.
Mabel Quinn fell silent for a moment.
"Do you like dolls?" he asked again.
"When I was little... I kind of liked them." She replied vaguely. When her parents took her brother out to play, she would stay home and play house with those dolls.
The dining table fell silent again.
Mabel Quinn held the milk cup in her hand, took a sip, and glanced secretly at Kyle Kinston, only to find his gaze was still fixed directly on her.
Feeling a bit awkward and about to look away, she heard Kyle Kinston say, "If you want to look at me, you don't have to sneak a peek. I've never said you can't look at me."
The milk she hadn't swallowed almost spurted out.

"What do you want to talk about?" He sat on the sofa in the study, composed and elegant.
"Mr. Kinston, I want to say that I have no intention of signing your so-called contract. I've also said that I don't plan to become anyone's private possession, so please let me go home as soon as possible. I won't tell anyone about that night, and I won't cause you any trouble in the future," Mabel Quinn said.
"What if I say that if you don't sign this contract, you won't be able to leave here, what will you do?" he asked nonchalantly.

"Because holding you feels quite nice."
