Emergency contraception, effective within 72 hours, Mabel Quinn went to the pharmacy to buy a box of emergency contraception. Although she knew she liked Kyle Kinston, and could even say she loved him, otherwise she wouldn’t have been intimate with him, but what about him?
She knew he liked her too. He had even said that if she had the ability, she should make him fall in love with her. But that showed that his feelings for her had not reached that level.
So the best way now was still contraception. After all, their current relationship was not at a stage where they could welcome a new life.
Thinking back to that time when she mistakenly believed she was pregnant and was taken to the Hospital by him for a check-up, she couldn’t help but laugh.
Maybe someday, when she and Kyle Kinston love each other and get married, they would have their own little life to cherish. By then, they could give this little life lots of love, and they and the child would surely be very happy.
These thoughts made Mabel Quinn smile uncontrollably.
"What are you smiling about?" A sudden voice rang beside her.
She quickly looked up to see Kyle Kinston, who had somehow entered her room.
"N-nothing." She said, her eyes suddenly spotting the emergency contraception box she had recently taken, still on the table. She hurried to put it away.
But a hand was faster, picking up the box and reading the instructions on it.
Mabel Quinn’s face immediately flushed red, and her heart began beating wildly. She didn’t even know why she was feeling so inexplicably nervous.
"You bought it yourself?" After a while, Kyle Kinston’s voice sounded again.
"You don’t want to have my child?" he asked. Strangely, seeing the box of contraception made him feel a bit uncomfortable. If it were any other woman, she might be eager to have his child.
But she shook her head, "Not really. I just feel like now isn’t the right time. I think a child should be born when two people are truly in love."
"Truly in love, huh..." His fingers gently brushed her lips. Would there be such a day? Would he... love his fate like the other members of the Kinston Family? Or... "If the child is destined to a painful life, would you still want to have it?"
"Why would it have a painful life?" Mabel asked curiously, "Fate isn’t predetermined, it can be changed."
He let out a sudden laugh, filled with self-mockery, "Change? True, but it relies on another elusive person, someone you might never find in a lifetime."
"Kyle, what’s wrong? I don’t understand what you’re saying," Mabel said.
He wiped away the hint of mockery at his lips, softly lowering his gaze to fix on her, "Fate... is often predetermined, just like how I met you, just like you being by my side."
He slowly leaned closer, placing his hands on the edges of the desk on either side of her, effectively trapping her in his embrace.
"Mabel, don’t leave me," he said softly.
