Mabel Quinn was taken aback. At first glance, these words sounded like sweet talk, but Kyle Kinston’s expression at this moment was so serious, it was as if he was earnestly asking this question.
This made her instinctively shiver, "If... I could really help your body, I would certainly be willing to be that Elixir. But I’m not a doctor, nor a pharmacist, so I probably can’t..."
Before she could finish, he pressed his forehead against hers, the touch creating an indescribable sense of emotion. "So, are you willing to stay with me forever?" His murmured voice carried an endless longing.
His breath enveloped her.
"Yes, I will," she said.
Mabel didn’t know how many times she said "I will" before Kyle was satisfied and let her go. Only then did she remember that her phone was still on the ground. When she picked it up, she saw the call with Alice Conley had already been disconnected.
So Mabel quickly called back, "Alice, sorry, something just came up suddenly, so... uh, what were you saying before?"
Alice’s voice hinted at some playful teasing as she laughed, "What sudden thing happened that you didn’t even have time to put down your phone? I heard you calling Kyle Kinston just now."
Mabel was embarrassed, guessing her friend misunderstood, but with such things, the more you explain, the worse it gets, so Mabel decided not to explain and let her friend make wild guesses.
Alice giggled a bit more before saying, "I was saying that if you have time this weekend, and Kyle Kinston does too, maybe we could all go out on a couple’s date, what do you think?"
"A couple’s date?" Mabel was surprised.
"Yeah, Evelyn and I would bring our boyfriends, and the three couples can hang out together. It’s also a good opportunity for everyone to get to know each other. Speaking of which, you haven’t met my boyfriend yet, right? And, haha, I’ve never seen a CEO up close in my life, so I’m curious to take a few more glances. It’s up to you whether you agree or not!" Alice said. Through previous gatherings, she and Evelyn both found boyfriends and had been dating for some time now.
"Evelyn and her boyfriend too?" Mabel hesitated a bit.
Alice said, "Mabel, we’ve all been together for four years, it doesn’t make sense to stop seeing each other after graduation. I really cherish the friendship we have in our dorm."
Mabel thought about it and said, "If it’s just me meeting up with you guys, there’s no problem. But if everyone’s bringing their boyfriends, I’m not sure if Kyle is willing." After all, a triple couples’ date seems a bit childish, and the CEO might not even care to join.
"That sounds interesting, agreeing to go with you to the gathering," Kyle’s voice unexpectedly sounded in Mabel’s ear.
Mabel turned her head abruptly, almost brushing her lips against his. She didn’t know when he had moved so close to her, they were almost at a zero distance.
Mabel was startled, seeing the playful smile on Kyle Kinston’s lips, guessing he had heard everything she said earlier.
